What is on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
I love friend dates like that! Especially making a new friend as an adult is fun :)
My word of advice for you, if you haven't tried sushi since surgery, you might not want to try it in public with a new friend. Sushi wrapped in rice is totally hit or miss with me. It can sit ok, or it can make me projectile vomit. I know I know, if it ever made me projectile vomit, why would I try it again? I am messed up, that's why! But in all honestly, when I am in public, I get some sort of sashimi platter with a side of sliced avocado and then put lots of wasabi in my soy sauce and it's on plan and delicious and I don't have to worry about sitting there with foamies and/or going to vomit in the bathroom. Or maybe your friend will share a roll and you can try a few pieces. I am definitely not trying to be the food police, I am just sharing that the first time I had sushi rolls with rice I was SERIOUSLY ILL and I would have died of embarrassment if I were on a fun friend date, spending time throwing up in the bathroom :)
yeah...I am really not interested in projectile vomitting in public LOL!
I have not vomitted once since surgery, so I am not really worried about that happening but I don't want to feel sick either, which has happened to me from eating too much carby/starchy stuff like bread or crackers, so I think rice might be an issue too. I am going to try to avoid the sushi rolls with rice, or maybe like you said, just get a few things to share, maybe I'll order sashimi and try a small piece of my friend's...

Sushi rolls with rice have been a no-no for me. I tried one roll and I was stuck for the rest of the meal. The rice is too sticky. But if it's a good sushi restaurant they can make any of their rolls cucumber wrap. It's pure protein and it's YUM YUM!

Thanks for the idea. I love sushi and the fish goes down well but the rice in rolls KILLS me.
