What is on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
OMG this is hilarious! A few months ago, Leah (age 9) was sick and I let her use my work computer to watch Barbie videos on YouTube. I never watch YouTube so when I was in our NY office a few weeks ago, meeting with a VP, she wanted to show me a video her team had made that relates to the technology I market. I handed her my laptop and she went to YouTube and when she clicked in the search box, it showed: barbie videos, barbies, barbie, roblox. She just laughed and said, "looks like you have a small child" ha ha!
Mornin'!
So sorry to hear about your (continuing) migraine and your dogs, Daisy. I wonder if the dogs have a virus or something? It's otherwise odd that it would hit both of them. Please keep us posted!
Still feeling a bit "off". I was texting with Librarian67 the other night and I think she might have identified the problem - Empty Nest Syndrome! Having the kid here (he was staying at our house a lot - and I saw him pretty much every day, even when he wasn't crashing on our couch) was very disruptive at first - everything else got brushed aside and it was a relief the times he was gone because I'm one of those people who needs a fair amount of "alone time". But truth be told, he grew on me over time. I got used to having him around all the time (for six weeks!). Now he's met a couple of other people - including some guy (another Turkish grad student) whom he's really latched on to. They seem to be together all the time now and he's crashed on HIS couch a few times (when they're out late, mostly). Of course, this is exactly what we wanted to happen - he needed A LOT of support at first, so our plan was to keep him propped up until he started meeting people and doing things with them and on his own, and over the last week or so, that's exactly what happened. But now I miss having him around! So I'm needing to pick up with my life again - do the things I've been putting off - and re-connect with my other friends. Still, that was pretty intense - it's so weird having it vanish all of the sudden! But it's better all the way around. He's exactly where we hoped he would end up, and I think he's really turned a corner and is much happier now than when he first arrived here.
today I'm meeting a friend for lunch and another friend for yoga at 4:00. I might stick around for the meditation class at 6:00. The instructor brings all her Tibetan singing bowls and plays them while we're meditating. Ear candy. It's heavenly!
QOTD: the last older film I saw was "Fear of 13". It was for my film discussion group. We're discussing "Jean de Florette" next time, which I saw when it first came out 33 years ago - so I'll need to watch it again. I can't remember anything about it other than I liked it.
3 years 9 months out:
B: homemade coconut Greek yogurt with mango pieces, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: they have a pretty limited menu at this place I'm going - a handful of sandwiches, soup, and salad. I may get a breakfast sandwich (egg, cheese, bacon). Probably about as many calories as their regular sandwiches, but a lot more protein
AS: L&F yogurt with raspberries
D: I was thinking of picking up half-price sushi, but we have so much food in the fridge I should probably attack that instead. Maybe a chicken wrap or some sweetened whipped cottage cheese
ES: if needed, same as AS
ex: yoga
have a good day everyone!
Good Morning Daisy and Menu Family,
Oh Daisy, a migraine AND sick dogs! You poor thing! I'm hoping your dogs and your migraine get better really soon. We are taking a trip to the vet today, too. Blossom injured her front leg playing with Sophie last night and is limping on it.

Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 100, Calories - 1,275, Carbs - 160.
B: 4 strips bacon, light & fit Greek yogurt
L: hamburger helper, light & fit Greek yogurt
D: microwave meal, light & fit Greek yogurt
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt
Have a great day everyone!

G'morning Daisy and menu peeps!
Daisy - sorry about the darn migraine being back again. Those poor guys! Diarrhea and vomiting? Did they eat something on their walk or from the garbage? Nothing worse than hearing your pup vomiting. Hang in there and I hope they feel better soon.
The weather is so nice that I decided as soon as it's light here I'll go for my wog in the forest. Haven't been there since after my 15K in Jan due to rain and laziness. I have been doing an hr of elliptical on my cardio days but today I'll do a 4 miler to start easy.
QOTD: being a surfing family when we watch old movies it's surf related. So we watched Big Wednesday a couple of nights ago. It's one of DH's favorites. I, personally, love musicals. Has anybody ever seen Seven brides for seven brothers? It was one of those movies we watched over and over in my house but here when I ask people nobody recognizes it.
Accountability: good although I replaced yogurt with enlightment icecream but made sure I had only 1/4 cup. Calorie wise I was lower but carb wise went up by a tad. The icecream was really good, I chose the cold brew coffee.
I'm still on a mission to finish off my meatballs and chicken skewers so the menu is as follow:
- TONS of coffee and tea
- Eggwich
- Turkey meatballs
- Chicken skewers
- Yogurt & parm cheese
Have a happy hump day!

My grandpa loved Seven Brides for Seven Brothers so I've seen it a few times; not in years though!
