What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Congrats on surgery. I hope you do okay with the chili. I couldn't eat spicy food or beef for several months after surgery and when I did I got severe gas.

Welcome Gordo! So happy to have your join our menu posters!
Congrats on surgery, how are you feeling? I found at the 3 month mark, right where you are a lot changed for me. I finally felt I got a handle on the vitamins, water intake, weighing/measuring my foods. It just seemed like it all came together. Also the bone tiredness started to wear off.
I think your menu is awesome! Talk about protein forward, way to go! I loved chili early out as well, I ate a lot of it and to this day I still drink vanilla RTD (ready to drink) protein drinks daily. I use them as "creamer" in my coffee. Its a two-for-one kind of deal. I find the shakes to sweet on their own but by using it as cream in my coffee it sweetens up my coffee and I get protein in, a win win.
Let us know if you have any questions. There are so many awesome Vets here who give the best advice and support, I am successful because of them.
Hope you will stick around, we love having newbies here!
All the best,
Daisy

I like your menu Daisy. I will take a double on the bacon. Haven't done my usual meal prep this week and it is showing. Lots of food in fridge and no motivation.
QOTD: the cold all the time thing has passed for me as well. I do like A/C because of my asthma and allergies but I also hate that it encourages me to stay inside.
- Premier protein, Fairlife latte
- overnight oats and protein
- steak, peppers and onion
- tbd: maybe flounder
- S: protein muffins, apple
ex: gym day. Squats!

Mornin'!
I'm feeling a bit anxious this morning. Something has been a little "off" with me all week, and I'm not sure what's going on. I think I just need some alone time to figure this out so I'll know what to do to "fix" it. Luckily, our "adoptee" is (mostly) back at the house where he's renting a room. He's sort of consumed my life the last six weeks, so it's been hard to get things done and would be hard to figure out what's going on in my head if he was still around here much of the time. He can be pretty needy and pretty intense. I'm not used to dealing with that. I'm not complaining - but I'm just not used to it. DH is pretty independent and self-sufficient - and we've never had kids, so...
I might get us tickets to see the "A Way With Words" taping tonight (it's an NPR show - I'm a big fan). They're broadcasting from here in town tonight. I really shouldn't be such a cheapskate and should just go....
film class later this morning, then lunch with a friend. I'm supposed to help another (new) friend with some stuff at her house today (was supposed to do it yesterday, but something came up for her so she pushed it off until today), but she's pretty intense and I'm not sure I want to be around that today - I really need to be by myself
accountability - I don't like extremes of temperature on either end, so yes, I run the A/C in the summer in both my house and my car. Although I don't crank it up as much as I did when I was SMO. I'm not freezing all the time anymore, but I don't get super hot like I once did, either
3 years 9 months out:
B: blueberry protein pancakes topped with 1/2 C homemade cottage cheese and blueberry sauce (no sugar added), coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: meeting my friend at Panera Bread, so probably a cup of turkey chili
AS: if needed, light yogurt and/or raw veggies dipped in hummus or ranch Greek yogurt
D: Turkish chicken stew
ES: same as AS
ex: I probably should..
Try to take some quiet time just for YOU. Take some deep breaths and be gentle.
