Kris just told me last night that we have to change the clocks this Saturday and I told him flat-out he was wrong, there is NO way it's time, and I googled it and...yep. I had to apologize profusely LOL.

Mornin'!

So my cat who had stem cell therapy yesterday is still moping around today (last night it was probably a combo of the anesthesia & the painkiller - this morning, probably just the painkiller - plus I'm sure he's exhausted), so I'm thinking I'll stick close to home to keep an eye on him. Plus that way I can take his e-collar off occasionally so he can eat and drink. Poor guy. I was originally planning to go to yoga this morning and a Mah Jongg group this afternoon (I've never played before but it sounds like it might be a fun activity - this group gets together every Tuesday afternoon to play), but I may punt it this week. I do plan to take our Turkish adoptee to a "Turkish Table" on campus from 5:00-6:00 tonight, though. It's for Turkish students and US students taking Turkish classes to practice their speaking skills. They meet every week to eat and speak Turkish. I'll feel like some third wheel since I know like 20 Turkish words, but I don't think this guy will go unless I go with him - so, we're going. I think it would be a great place for him to meet people he can relate to. I need to start offloading him - I love having him around, but he really does need to start making other friends. And that will take some effort on his part and right now he needs a push (or shove....) to do that. So....there.

QOTD: I don't have any Irish blood. My father's maternal grandparents were born in Scotland, but....not Ireland, unfortunately! I don't personally celebrate St Patrick's Day, but it does seem to be a thing around here. Green beer is especially popular (but in Wisconsin, beer is ALWAYS popular, regardless of the color...)

accountability was great yesterday, but my weight was up almost a pound. Sigh. I know....fluctuations are normal. But...irritating.

3 years 9 months out:

B: 1/2 C Earnest Eats protein maple oatmeal topped with 1/2 C homemade pumpkin yogurt, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: if I don't go to the Mah Jongg thing, then probably Everroast chicken & string cheese roll-ups. If I go to it, I probably won't eat lunch because there will be stuff there (and I WILL be careful and make good choices!!)

AS: If no Mah Jongg, then light yogurt and/or raw veggies dipped in hummus or ranch Greek yogurt

D: Turkish chicken stew

Good morning OH~ I slept so hard and so well last night that I feel great today! Supposed to rain for the next few days and all weekend too. Seriously over it! Can't wait for the weather to warm up and the trails to dry out so I can get back to hiking! I really miss it. I got my ice cream maker last night and the bowl is in the freezer. I'm going simple and using a Quest peanut butter protein shake tonight and see how it comes out. I am going to use water and if next time I need to bump up the creamy texture, I will add milk or cream or something. I think I will be okay with an icy freeze. I can't wait to see the results!

QOTD - According to Ancestry DNA - I am 56% Irish/Scottish and 44% English, Welsh and NW European. I absolutely celebrate St. Patty's day but how I celebrate has changed over the years. I used to party pretty hardy when I was younger!! These days it starts with an Irish coffee and ends with Corned Beef and Cabbage in some form either traditional or a Reuben in a bowl and would not be complete withou****ching The Quiet Man!!

Accountability - on point!

2 years, 3 mo 168.7 - yes!

b- coffee x 3, L&F greek yogurt

l- chicken breast w/marinara and parm cheese

d-eggbeaters w/ ex sharp cheddar, mushrooms and roasted peppers

Let us know how the icecream goes. I'm curious. Are you saying as your base you use the quest powder and then just add water? Cashew milk is very creamy and low in cal if you want another option to make it more creamy. I use it in blender with quest cinnamon crunch as a drink and it's YUM!

I'm picking up the cinnamon crunch flavor today! I was trying to keep this as low cal as possible, so I'm starting with water and will adjust with milk or ? if its no bueno. I used to blend it with ice cubes and I liked it, so hopefully it will do the trick.

I am a regular reader of the menu thread, but a rare poster because my menu rarely changes.

I am 4 years 11 months since surgery, maintaining a 137lb (+/-3 to 5lbs).

I wanted to answer the QOTD since no one else seems to celebrate. My dad is an Irish immigrant, so we do celebrate, but it is not about drinking and green beer for our family. We start the day by going to Mass, dressed in your "Sunday best" and then the parade (usually as a participant). In Cleveland, the St. Patrick's day parade is the largest single day event in downtown every year. When we were kids, we all Irish danced so we were shuttled off to various events and parties for performances, but our celebrations are mostly focused on being with the family. As we got older we would go out at night to Irish pubs, usually try to find a local with Irish traditional music, which is easy to do most weekends around here. This year, my mom is one of the parade honorees and will ride in the front cars of the parade and my dad has been asked to sing the National Anthems to start off the day and they are delighted (my dad is a spry 88 yr old). Its a great day for the family. below is a picture of the church that we go to on St. Patrick's Day. Its a beautiful old church and the Mass is simply lovely and very crowded, several of the marching units from the parade process in and provide the music. Sorry if the picture is huge, part of the reason I don't post...technical difficulties. thanks for letting me chime in on your thread.
