Wha's on your menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
on 3/5/19 11:37 am
You all probably know this already, but bunnies, eggs, etc., all very much a part of our Christian Easter celebration, but are actually older, pre-Christian symbols of fertility and the renewal of life after the struggle to endure winter. The changeable date of Easter itself is determined by the sun and the moon - Easter occurs on the first Sunday following the first full moon to occur after the Spring Equinox. So our Easter traditions are both solar and lunar, and a mix of both pre-Christian and Christian. Kind of cool, no?
Quick post, I have to catch my train and I am off to a slow start this morning.

Good morning! Getting ready to head to the dentist for a routine cleaning before work.
Qotd: I'm at least 50% irish, my maternal grandparents were Irish immigrants. We used to celebrate with a big family gathering for corned beef and cabbage dinner, but now that my grandma is in assisted living, we don't anymore. I'd love to carry on the tradition, but I live in a different town and I don't think they'd travel for dinner.
Breakfast: probably just Premier in my coffee after the dentist
lunch: didn't check the menu, but I might go with a salad today anyway with some diced chicken. My weight is stalled again so I really want to watch the calories. While the catered work lunches generally have good protein options, I'm really only guesstimating for inputting into MFP.
dinner: tuna packet, cottage cheese
REALLY need to push fluids today. I've been bad at that and may be a reason why I'm stalled again

Fear of regain can be crippling and become physically and mentally unhealthy. And just to be transparent so when you looked at that picture and said I looked great... know that from my lowest- the number I only saw for a split second- I have gained 30 pounds - and from where I had been maintaining a solid 20-25. So not a small amount. In my brain would I like to lose 10-15 pounds because I fixate on the number the scale says? You bet. Is it necessary for life, liberty and pursuit of happiness? Nope. Do I still fear the slippery slope? Yes. For now working on my brain and staying the course.
QOTD: Don't really celebrate St Patty's Day, but do love to make Irish Soda Bread.

Good morning!
Yesterday seemed to fly by for me too. I didn't sleep the greatest and I rarely have to get up to use the washroom, but I did this morning a half hour before my alarm was to go off. I managed to drift asleep again for 20, but gave up with a few minutes to spare. It was cold again this morning, at -20. I debated the walk, then decided to drive. 10 years of not having a 2nd car, I think now that I have a little 4cyl, I am liking not being frozen for half the day at work. That's the worst feeling. I'll just up the gym trips on those days I don't walk.
The menu is good. Basically the same as yesterday except I've added an oz of cheese to my salad for lunch.
QOTD: We don't really observe St Patrick's Day as there aren't any drinkers in the house. Even looking back I never really did go out. My wife is Irish descent, but her whole family isn't really into it either. I don't have a lick of Irish in me that I know of.
Have a good day!
Remember, no matter where you go.......there you are.
G'morning Daisy & Menu peeps,
Another rainy day here aNd the temps are in low 50s so I'm not complaining at all compared to the rest of you.
QOTD: no Irish in me but DH has some Irish. Our last name is Irish. We used to go out before kids but afterward it became a school/classroom decoration thing. This year it just so happens we (couple of gf + I) got tickets to Hamilton in SF on 3/17. San Francisco is crazy on Patty's day so we will be part of celebrations whether we want it or not.
B: protein coffee
L: last batch of Costco meatballs
S: parm cheese
D: chicken fajita (Trader Joe's)
Happy Tuesday, everybody.

I'm sure we will, even if it's not the original cast.
It was a real hassle getting the tix. When they went on sale, you had to log in and you would be given a number in this virtual line. I was like 135,000th in line. Thank god I work from home so I just stayed with it, minimized the screen and got busy with work. From about 8:00 am I was finally able to get the tix around 2:30 pm. We heard horror stories that ppl were being logged off hence kicked out of the line after long waits.
