Day 4 - Calling all Vets - Questions for you all!

Q1: Yes. High protein and very low carb is what works for me. I know that I am a food addict, and view carbs/sugar as my "heroin"
Q2: I have never tested myself with sugar, alcohol, or "treats" while getting to goal. I am five years out, and I still haven't tested myself.
I am a Type-A person. To me, these foods are dead.

Question #1 (Q1):
In your opinion is high protein, low carb, avoid your personal trigger foods still the best way to eat to maintain your weight and avoid regain?
Yep, sticking to the plan is the best way to go for sure. I wish I was the type of person who could just eat smaller portions of other types of food and lose weight but I can't. They are triggering and I am highly sensitive to carbs.
Question #2 (Q2):
Did you ever test yourself if you could 1. eat sugar, 2. drink alcohol, 3. treat yourself to your "fav" food before you got to your goal weight? If you did how did it go? If you didn't, why?
Nope. Before I got to goal I was a MACHINE. I refused to let anything stand in my way and I knew I could do anything for a short period of time and endure it. Obviously, once I gave it all up for a period of time, it was easier to refuse those triggering foods, anyway. I wish I never tried a carb again, but alas... about 6 months after getting to goal I started trying little treats here and there.
