6 weeks out from RNY today, is it too early to be stalled?
Hi all, New to the group, Had RNY on 1/14/19 and 1/17/19 (see my profile, long story) and I feel like I'm not losing weight at all. I pre make my food so I don't buy anything when I'm out, I get in my protein and water (I think - 2 shakes - 30g protein and 2- 30 oz cups of water).
I have been cleared to eat full solids but I've been sticking to eggs, chicken, and tuna (with veggies).
Snacking is a struggle, but I've been snacking on stuff like veggies and sugar free pops. I measure my food in the 4 oz jars, I'm doing everything by the book, and to the letter!!
I know I shouldn't but I get a little discouraged when I see others who look like the weight is just melting off. I'm like ok, what am I doing wrong?? Can any of the vets (or anyone) offer some advice?

I remember in the beginning I looked for the weight to 'melt off' as stated by my surgeon's nurse. It's more of a slow melt- think glaciers and global warming LOL. It was never as fast as I hoped for, but faster than I could have ever done On my own. It sounds like you are eating/drinking correctly- stixk with it. It's so worth it. Stalls in my opinion is more long term w/out weight loss, like 3 weeks or more. Not losing for a certain week is natural ebb and flow of things.

I am 2 months post op on Monday. Weight loss is not a linear line. I lost 8 pounds week 1. Then it took 3 weeks to lose 7 more pounds. Then I lost and gained the same 3 pounds for 2.5 weeks. Now for the last week I've been lose 1 to 1.5 pounds per day. I noticed that people stalled in the first two months as their body goes WTF IS HAPPENING! Don't sweat it. Move, eat under according to your plan (low cal, high protein), stay hydrated, and enjoy the other perks of regaining health (lost inches, more energy etc).

Stalls are normal and will happen off and on during your journey. Shoot, yours could be considered late, there is what is called the dreaded 3 week stall. A stall happens when your body has to adjust to all the changes, remember, the changes are not all external, you are changing internally also. If you are eating right, trust the program. Just be sure you are weighing and measuring and recording all you eat. If you continue to struggle, consult your bariatric program's nutritionist.
We all lose weight differently, also so don't compare yourself to another. I use this analogy a lot, a touchdown is 6 points whether you take 4 plays to make a touchdown or 14 plays to make a touchdown. You are also not acknowledging your success when you compare your weight loss to another and figure you are doing something wrong. Your journey will be your journey and it will not look like anyone else's.

I had my surgery on 01/18/19 and I am one of the ones where the weight is "melting off" ... that being said, my starting weight was more than 100 pounds more than your heaviest which plays a huge role in the speed of how we lose. You are roughly 30 pounds from your goal weight, I still have 130 pounds till mine! So while it might seem like it's melting off for me just know that it all eventually evens out and when you get to your goal weight and I'm still trudging along it will all seem even lol!!!
Good luck ??
