Hello friends from freezing cold snowy windy Ontario! Weather on Saturday was awesome and then it all went to crap yesterday. How was your weekends? Mine was great, really busy but great.
Accountability: a friend took me to this new Middle Eastern grocery store, they had Baklava and I had a few pieces, it was sooooooo good, but so does not fit into my plan!
QOTD: If you could ask a Vet (Veteran, anyone who is 5 yrs + post op) here on OH one question what would it be? I was thinking if we have several people with the same question I could do a separate post asking the Vets to answer this question/s. I would ask the Vets if in their opinion is high protein & low carb still the way you need to eat when you get 5+ yrs post op. What would you ask?

Happy Monday Menuers,
I am sleepy this morning. We went to Pennsylvania this weekend to stay with friends. Saturday we went to an RV show which was super fun. DH and I saw a motorhome that we really liked but we aren't really in the market just now to upgrade. Sunday we shopped and ran some errands on our way home.
I didn't sleep well last night - the wind was and still is crazy!
QOTD: How do you handle snacking? How do you motivate yourself to exercise? Did you test yourself to see if you could eat sugar? There is a huge Keto movement going on right now, how do you feel about 'diets' like that? I am sure there are many more questions, I just have brain fog right now.
TSS: 1 year and 1 month/weight 161 pounds
B: overnight oats

L: ever roast rollups, cheese stick, blackberries

I hope Monday is kind to everyone!

Good morning! I haven't been sleeping well so I'm up earlier than normal. Schools are closed due to bad road conditions after Saturday's blizzard--many side roads and neighborhoods haven't even been touched with a plow and busses can't get through. That means work from home for me, but DH still wants to go into the office. I'm definitely more productive at the office so I might go in when he does. I have an appointment with my endocrinologist today anyway, which is down the street from my work. Hoping she'll finally tell me I'm diabetes free and can take a hike!! Haha last time she told me if my a1c is still normal after today's checkup she won't need to see me again unless I have issues, otherwise I can just have my a1c checked with my regular doctor.
Qotd: since I come here daily (even if I don't post daily) I feel like I don't have too many questions! This site is a great resource.
Breakfast: coffee with premier
lunch: salad with 2 oz chicken breast
dinner: ribs!

That's awesome Cassie! I asked you this about a year ago, but are you still testing? I still do it twice a day and my Baritrician thinks I am needlessly filling myself with holes, but I think my Endocrinologist still wants me to. I am going to check with her next month.

I test maybe once a week, in the morning mostly just to "spot check" and make sure I'm not way out of line. My endocrinologist was fine with that where I am :)

Thanks. I have an appointment with my endocrinologist on March 7, and I will see what she says to do.

hi all
we had a great weekend. Saturday we worked in the house including installing a granite counter for our island (the kitchen is almost totally done now) and installing a super flusher toilet for upstairs 1/2 bath. and various other things. Sunday we took Bell to her first puppy training where she was quite good. She is also as of last night sleeping through the night. she was waking up at 3 am when we went to the bathroom and wanted to get in ou bed which we were allowing- yes bad parent behaviour so we had to put a stop to it. she got tonnnns of treats. there were two other pups in the class and the instructor has worked with caesar milan!
Accountabiliy: ate too many peanuts last night before bed and saturday night i ate too many calories. moving forward.
