Mornin' Weekenders!

thought I'd jump on - although someone's probably creating a Sunday post at the same time I am!!

We went to see "Bohemian Rhapsody" last night at our cheap, second-run theatre. OMG! I thought during the Golden Globes that "A Star is Born" should have won Best Picture instead of this one, but then, I hadn't seen "Bohemian Rhapsody" yet. Now that I've seen both movies - wow - I don't know. They're both great and hard to compare. I'm curious to see what happens tonight...

It's snowing lightly now but isn't supposed to keep up much longer. There was a lot of meltage yesterday with the warmer temps, but it's supposed to get really cold tonight, so that'll all ice over. We were invited to an Oscar party, which we plan to go to as long as the roads are OK - so it's sort of a crapshoot right now. I'm planning to make a pan of spanakopita today to take over there if we go - and if we don't, it'll be lunches for DH this week.

3 years 8 months out:

B: protein pumpkin pancakes (more than usual because the first couple of batches off the griddle majorly flopped - heat too high and batter too thin - but got that fixed! We ate all the weird ones, though...), 1/3 C homemade Greek yogurt, 1/2 C homemade apple/cinnamon compote (no sugar added). Oh - and coffee with half & half

MS: none given the bigger-than-usual breakfast

L: I really need to eat these salad vegetables and TJ's chicken grilled chicken strips before they all go bad, so that

AS: raw veggies dipped in hummus or ranch Greek yogurt

D: if we're home, probably a piece of spanakopita. If we're at the party - ?? I'll be trying to keep it under control tonight if we go. I went slightly over calories yesterday - and I could easily today if I'm not careful....

hahaha, I knew this would happen!

I have seen all the best picture nominees except Vice (I just couldn't bring myself to spend two+ hours focusing on the Cheneys.

Of the ones I've seen, I understand the love for Roma because it's beautiful and arty but I found it painful. I loved BR, A star is born, and green book (and I saw Black Panther 3 times last year because I was enthralled by it). I am personally hoping that Black Klansman wins and if it doesn't would love either Green Book or Black Panther to win). I think it will be Roma though.

I made sugar free (and very lightly sweetened) PB cookies yesterday with ginger, allspice, and aleppo pepper- they came out tasting good but very crumbly; they won't make the drive to the oscar party so I'm trying to figure out a new option.

Menu

B - Fage 0% yogurt with 2 SF PB cookies crumbled in.

L - probably a protein pack

D - protein and veggie apps at the Oscar Party

Have a great day!

I still need to see Roma and Black Panther. I've seen all the others. There were a LOT of good movies out this year!!!

yogurt with SF PB cookies crumbled in sounds mighty intriguing. Hmmm....

I started with this recipe. I did 1/3 cup mix of eythritol and golden monk fruit and added ginger, cake spice blend and black and Aleppo pepper, and a little cinnamon. I don't measure spices though so it sure of the amounts. It made 27 cookies, they a between a quarter and silver dollar size.

i am surprisingly full from the breakfast! More so then the usual yogurt breakfast.

it's the peanut butter. I've been making these protein peanut butter balls that I spotted on Unjury's site awhile ago (I have to add a little unsweetened almond or cashew milk to their recipe, though - otherwise it's so dry it's hard to work with). I usually make a couple batches and stash them in my freezer. A couple of these things as a quick snack when I'm headed out the door or am too lazy to look for anything else fills me up for hours! (their recipe is just peanut butter & chocolate protein powder. I add the aforementioned nut milk, though - just enough to make it easier to work with)

Good morning, everybody. I am going to reply to this thread mainly because I stumbled so bad on the "what actor question" last time and still don't have an answer.

I finally did a pull-up yesterday. If I have ever done one before, I don't recall it. We used to do those Presidential Fitness Tests as children and I don't remember being able to do any then. And during the two times in my life when I may have been fit enough to do it I never tried. And certainly not any time as an adult.

I have been working on the assisted pull-up/dip machine and periodically trying to do a pull-up on the regular bar and yesterday I jumped up, grabbed the bar and started moving. At some point I realized that I was moving further than I was used to and finally got my chin up over the bar. The cold steel of the bar felt so good on the bottom of my chin!

I may do another today.

Breakfast: omelette

Snack: Protein bar

Lunch: Mahi burger

Snack: Light and Fit

Dinner: Chili

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, all.

I should try next time I'm at the gym. I've always assumed I couldn't do them, but maybe I can now! It's like in yoga - I never did plow pose because I knew there was no way on God's green earth I could do that - but now, surprise of surprises, I can do it! Helps not having that huge gut in the way!!

Whoo hoo! A pull up is hard!!! Grear accomplishment!! (And those presidential fitness assessment tests should be banned - talk about a way to create self doubt, self judgement and bullying).

Mornin pouch peeps! Well I did it, I completed a 1/2 marathon. It was great- only two small issues I chaffed really bad on my back (ouch) and I sweat so much my socks and shoes were soaked- which was miserable! That sucked motivation from me in miles 11-13. Otherwise it was a great experience, I would do it again, just closer to home. Pics at the end

no idea what we're doing today, we say a movie yesterday. I may lounge in the pool, but first I must eat EVERYTHING. I've only had two bananas so far today- I see a juicy burger and milkshake in my future. I'm not rewarding myself with food, I'm Choosing to use the crap ton of calories I burned today.

partyp's QOTD: Regina King would play me.

no scale, no weight, 3.9 years out

m1: 2 bananas

m2-4: burger and milkshake .... not sure what else
