What is on your menu today (Photo Friday) RNYers?
Funny story about the snowmobiling - when I first booked it for me and Kris and his sister, the options were a shared (2 person) snowmobile or each on our own. The price difference wasn't huge, and I thought clearly it would be so much more fun if the three of us each got to drive our own. When his sister backed out of the trip, I kept our reservation as he and I each on our own. When we show up for the trip, it's ALL man/woman couples, or in some cases two women together (as a couple or friends, not sure). And we get to the snowmobiles and literally EVERY SINGLE ONE HAS TWO PEOPLE! As in one driver, and one passenger. So Kris is like, "Should we share one?" And I am like "Hell no! We paid for single riders!". And he was like hiss whispering to me "But EVERY other one has two people!" and I was like "Don't you want to drive the entire time?! Come on, get on your snowmobile!". I am SO glad we did...I loved driving it! It was a total adrenaline rush, zooming across a glacier in the snow with the sun shining down...I would have hated sitting on the back of one, holding the side handles...instead I had my hands on a warm throttle! It made me understand why people must like motorcycles!
We did pack a lot in because I am a psycho planner LOL. And there was so much more to see that we didn't have time for...but what we did, was amazing. You should totally go - you love nature, you love snow and cold (weirdo! Teasing, you know I love you!), and you love snowmobiling! I will psycho plan your itinerary ;) It's my specialty!

Knowing how bulky those suits are, you still look amazingly slim!

Good morning all! I'm soooo ready for the weekend, even though this ended up being a 3 days work week for me between vacation day on Monday and snow day on Wednesday. Tomorrow I'm taking my 7 year old niece to a Girl Scout thing, World Thinking Day. I have no idea what we'll be thinking about, but I'm sure it will be fun. That's my only plans and I love that!
Daisy, I'm with you - I have SUCH a sweet tooth. People say when you stop having sugar, you stop craving it - but I never found that to be true. In my early months post-op when my menu was still super limited and no added sugar, I still craved sweet and I always do What has been working best for me lately is planning a sweet into my menu for the day. If I don't do that and I "deprive" myself for a time, then I end up binging and that's a bad scene.
Had my first monitoring appointment this morning for the IVF and everything is going how they would like, so that's good. I'll get a call this afternoon letting me know if they want me to adjust any of my dosages. Which leads me to my photo for the day.
Not exactly the dining room decor of my dreams - but there are a lot of meds and accessories to keep track of and half the meds are in the fridge, so having everything together downstairs makes life a little easier.
TSS: almost 5 years
B: coffee with half and half, egg cups
S: cottage cheese
L: Ever Roast chicken and string cheese
S: apple and almonds
D: I DO NOT KNOW! I will be looking at your menus today for inspiration. I was planning on leftovers but then my DH ATE THEM to my annoyance...
S: brownie brittle and PB pretzels (card city)
Have a lovely day and weekend, my friends!

Seriously! I even have a little dry erase board on the fridge where I write what's for dinner each night and it clearly said "Friday: Leftover pork chops." Infuriating LOL!

The "punishment" should be that he has to deal with dinner tonight, except then we'd be eating cereal, so...

Anny the girl scout things with your niece sounds awesome! And she is 7 now???? Where did the time go?
Sugar is life right Anny! I was addicted to it pre surgery and I was one of those post op's who was strict as hell in the first 3 years and then in year 4 I let some treats in and now in year 5 I full completely crave sugar 24/7 and I unfortunately can't do moderation. If I have half a chocolate bar and put the other half away and tell myself I will eat it "tomorrow," tomorrow never comes, I go back later and eat the other half.

I love your pic! I love how organized you are with all your meds and accessories and there is more in the fridge, WOW! And wow that is a lot of stuff. Still got my fingers & toes crossed for you!
Have a wonderful fun weekend!
Who knows if this will last, but I've been able to restrain myself lately and just eat a portion of things like Girl Scout cookies. I even got this fancy white chocolate with hazelnut filling candy bar recently and ate half one day and WAITED UNTIL THE NEXT DAY to eat the other half. Seriously, that has never happened IN MY LIFE! So I'm going with it for now.
