What's on your Thursday menu, RNYers?

I'll get us started because I don't see a thread.

I have a two-hour delay which is what usually happens after school is closed for the day. I don't mind one bit because I can have an extra cup of coffee and just relax more in the morning. This morning I will actually run to the bank and post office before going to work!

Accountability: s.n.a.c.k.s - ugh

I'm working on a head issue - my why and what holds me back to be more successful. I admit I have gotten lazy and haven't logged my food on MFP and that snacking has invaded my evenings. I am a work in progress. I have to come up with a better plan though.

QOTD: Do you watch 600-pound life on TLC? I have seen a few episodes but I am not a fan of the show.

TSS: 1 year and 1-month/ weight 161

B: coffee, 8 ounces of milk and 4 ounces of ever roast chicken

L: 3 ounces of leftover pork chop

D: 4 ounces leftover homemade oven baked chicken parm

Planned Snacks - PP chocolate shake, 1 clementine, and 1/2 C blueberries

My goal is to consume 120+ ounces of fluids

Happy Friday Eve!

Mornin'!

I'm super achy this morning after spending an hour shoveling my driveway yesterday (mostly thanks to the snow plow that left a mound of snow at the end of it - UGH!). I was going to go to Zumba later this morning, but I'm not so sure that's a good idea after that "workout" yesterday - maybe tomorrow. And then I thought I'd go to this coffee that this social group I just joined is having, but the Turkish guy is here again, and I doubt he's planning to go into his lab until 10:00-ish. Crap. Hopefully he'll start staying at the other house (where he's rented a room) more - I like having him here, but it kind of disrupts my routine.

QOTD: not very often. It's too formulaic, which gets boring after awhile. Plus it can be kind of exploitative. I don't know why they have to show people in the shower, for example. Plus we don't have cable, so there's that (although some of the older full episodes are on youtube). I've seen it a handful of times, though.

Accountability was good.

3 years 8 months out:

B: three protein pumpkin pancakes topped with 1/3 C plain yogurt and 1/2 C homemade apple/cinnamon compote (no sugar added), coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: cottage cheese

AS: raw veggies with either hummus or ranch Greek yogurt, and/or light yogurt

D: salad with TJ's seasoned chicken strips

ES: same as AS

have a great day, all!

UPDATE: so I just decided I'm not going to have my routine interrupted anymore. Or at least not often. And of course I'm flexible if something critical comes up. I just told him that there's a coffee social I kind of want to attend from 9:00-10:30, and if he's not ready to go into his lab yet, I can drop him off at his other house while en route to the coffee shop. He seemed OK with that (of course, what else is he going to say??). He wants to go to the grocery store tonight (we couldn't go last night because of the roads), but I'll take him and just take him back to the other house afterward. I have a class tomorrow morning that I don't want to miss. Plus he's been here a lot lately. All of last weekend, plus last night. I need some alone time...

No Harm in giving him the options/details up front. You need to ensure you are enjoying your retirement and doing things for yourself as well. I applaud you for opening your home.

He's kind of fragile. Not sure if this is just a temporary adjustment thing, or if he's got some issues going on. He did take the initiative to see a counselor last week (and went back earlier this week) - I was really happy to see that. I'm also really encouraging him to go to some of the Turkish student association events on campus. There are a lot of Turkish students around, but unless they're in your dept, you won't ever meet them unless you're involved with the Turkish student association (which is quite active). He definitely needs some friends. And a social life. Hopefully that's all this is...

I think that you and I might have the same head issue. I do well, get to where I want to be and then stop what I need to do. I have been diligent since the first of the year, you will get a plan together that works for you.
