What is on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Safe travels to Dulles! It just started snowing here.
I don't know what I expect from a support group. It is definitely not pre-ops but all post-ops. The first part of the group is usually a guest speaker and so far the only guest speaker I haven't liked it the plastic surgeon. He went on and on and on with pictures for an hour and it was just a dry presentation. The second half of the group is a free for all forum and there are conversations going on everywhere in the room. I just can't deal with no structure. It must be the teacher in me. :) I also don't like conversation hogs that drag their medical story on and on and on... and don't listen to the advice or experiences of others. Medical drama mommas... it's better that I just don't go.
You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

I had to attend a minimum of one support session before surgery. I was surprised how useful and interesting I found it so I went to a couple pre-op...then the month I had surgery they started doing it every other month or once a quarter, very inconsistently scheduled so I never went back.

Good morning, everybody. We have been having spotty internet all week, so I haven't been able to post. I wrote a longer post this morning, but then the service stopped working. I will keep this short and maybe come back later if the service is working better.
QOTD: I have an Infinite QX 70, which I love. I would buy another, but they discontinued the model. They keep asking me to trade but it would have to be to something bigger and we don't need a bigger SUV with our kids starting to go out on their own.
Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: omlette
Snack: light and fit
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all.

When I got my car serviced right before the move, they made a big push to get me to trade in my car; apparently the low miles/year are in demand. They just laughed when I said "sure, I'll trade it in straight across"; that so wasn't going to happen!

Mornin'!
Looks like we're in for another snow day (ARRRGGHH!), so I'm probably going to be trapped in the house again. I'm planning on finishing up some things I've been putting off for some organizations I'm involved with. It's been hanging over my head for far too long, and this is the perfect day to knock some/most/all of it out. Our Turkish friend was planning to come over tonight to do yoga and meditate with me, but they're calling for freezing rain this afternoon - so maybe not. Too bad - I sort of like having the guy around.
Accountability - good choices, but went over on calories. Weight was down this morning.
QOTD: we both drive Honda Civics. We've owned three other Honda Civics before this (I got my first one in 1979). The last two lasted 17 years! And yep, I'd absolutely get another one! I bought one new years ago, but now we buy them when they're just off lease (2-3 years old) - with low mileage - and drive them until the wheels fall off.
3 years 8 months out:
B: homemade Greek coconut yogurt with 1/3 mango, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: salad with TJ's grilled chicken breast shredded on top
AS: light yogurt and/or raw veggies dipped in hummus or ranch Greek yogurt
D: TJ's grilled chicken breast strips & veggies
ES: if needed, same as AS
have a great day everyone!
hi all
doing well the acid kicked in last night but took something and that resolved it. didn't sleep too well.
accountability was good- been trying to do this intuitive eating and it is working really well.Went to target for lunch yesterday and got these chicken bacon cutlets and they were marked down to $5 for 4 so that was pretty ok. made that this AM and some bacon for DH. He has later schedule today so like to make sure he has enough good food to eat.
QOTD: I drive a kia optima. and DH drives a Kia soul. We also have an old ford truck which has been fully restored (new engine, trans, upholstery).
Food for today:
coffee
water
coffee
prot pancakes?
leftover catfish
cauliflower hash baked with eggs?
maybe one of those chicken things.
not sure what else.
Gym tonight- yoga and MAYBE bootcamp earlier we will see.
Good morning, Daisy and all! Daisy, I am so glad you are feeling good and migraine free today. Your menu looks delicious as always. I had Skyr when we were in Iceland and it was yum! I am not such a yogurt person but I enjoyed it. Do you grill the halloumi cheese yourself?
Interesting QOTD. I am a car nut - I worked in automotive for 10+ years, and while I was at Volkswagen, I switched cars every 4 months. Literally I would have a new car three times a year...I could have a Beetle convertible for summer, an Audi A4 for fall, a Toureg SUV for winter. I was soooo spoiled. When I left there and moved to DC I bought a 2008 Jetta, stick shift. Living in DC, I walked, took the bus, and ubered pretty much 24/7. So my 2008 Jetta only has 60,000 miles on it!!! When Kris and I met, he had a BMW 3-series sedan with a billion miles on it. We traded it in and got an Infiniti QX60 which is an SUV with AWD and has 3 rows. The kids love it. I barely ever drive it. I was just joking that with how low mileage the Jetta is (his name is Norbert), he's going to last another 10 freaking years. I mean, trust me, I am grateful that we have a paid off car, but car technology has certainly come a long way in the last 11 years and I miss having the newest and greatest models! Thank god Norbert has heated seats or I would trade him in in a heartbeat!
Crazy day today - no time for the gym - although we are in the midst of a massive winter storm, my boss(es) are in Reston, VA for a workshop today and tomorrow and I have to drive there to meet them around lunchtime. I have to decide, do I leave soon and drive in a snowstorm? Or the sleet expected around lunch? Or the freezing rain of the afternoon? LOL!
B: 4 oz ever roast chicken, 1 oz goat cheese
L: TBD, see above cluster
D: Also TBD, I am going to suggest seafood at PassionFish (since the company is paying!)
E: Nothin
Have a fab day, everyone! Stay warm if you're on the east coast!

Today is a good day so far (its only 9am!) so fingers crossed I stay migraine free today.
Yes trying something totally different and grilling the halloumi cheese. Just trying to keep the menu for my & hubby fresh & interesting!
I got such a kick out of you saying "I am a car nut," says the woman from Michigan! And damn you sure do know your cars! And yes the new car every 4 months would be outstanding, I would miss that as well. I love the Infiniti SUVs, they are sooooo gorgeous. The 3 rows makes total sense with 3 kids! I love that Norbert is still going strong. If you don't drive him and he gets to stay in your garage (less snow/salt on him) then he will last forever! I have heated seats but not a heated steering wheel, I ALWAYS have cold hands so next car for me will have a heated steering wheel for sure!
So they are forecasting to get that storm here as well. Its "supposed" to start snowing here at 2pm, then freezing rain at around 7pm and then rain at around 9pm. Your weather is coming North! I am not trying to be an asshole but with you having to drive in a storm to meet your boss today, that just seems dangerous to me! I mean in the internet age with skype etc can't you explain to them driving in a snowstorm/ice storm is just not feasible and doing a skype meeting? I worry about you!!!
Damn you and your Everroast chicken! We don't have that brand up here in the Great White North and I salivate every time I see it on your menu! I love deli meat roll ups. There is literally one grocery chain locally that I can get deli meat from that does not have any sulphites or nasty add ins!
Please be safe if you have to go out today!
