Ok, I just checked a bit more and the dolphin part is closed but the regular aquarium and the butterfly part are open. It sounds like they may not reopen the dolphin part but that's still being determined. Sorry for any false alarms:-)

Aw thanks for checking it out for me! It totally would've sucked if we planned another aquarium day and it turned out to be closed! Lol

So sorry about Story. Poor little thing. Good thing kids bounce back fast.

What's a low carb banana bread? Please share recipe.

it's not super low carb since it has bananas in it, but it is gluten free and made with Almond flour and coconut flour and I think I've finally perfected the recipe after a lot of trial and error!

4 ripe bananas
4 eggs
1C baking splenda
2C almond flour
1/2 C coconut flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2C PB fit powder
5 Tbsp butter (melted)
3 tbsp vegetable oil
1 TBsp ground cinnamon
pinch of salt
1/4 C almond milk

pre-heat oven to 350, spray loaf pan w/nonstick cooking spray

mash bananas together with splenda, vanilla, eggs, and oil. Melt butter and mix with PBfit (add water if needed to make smooth texture) and add to bananas. add cinnamon and salt.
stir in dry ingredients: almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, and add almond milk as needed (batter should be thick but easy to pour)
Pour into loaf pan and bake at 350 for about 1 hour 20 mins.

makes 12 slices/servings.

187 calories per slice
10 g net carbs
6 g protein
13 g fat

I have made it with extra protein powder before but I did not like the way it came out...kind of a weird aftertaste and I feel like it dried out the texture.
It's not the BEST macro's but I always have so many brown bananas so I've been playing around with it! Even Story likes it so I know it's good LOL.
I like to heat it up in the microwave for about 20 seconds before eating it...doesn't even need butter!

Yum!!! Thank you for this.

While waiting to get your recipe I googled low carb banana bread and there is a recipe very close to yours but with banana extract (the real one...I have no idea what the real one is) so that way it cuts down on carbs.

Oh yes I've seen the one with the banana extract but the whole reason i make it is to use up the brown bananas lol!

Oh no! No fun to have a sick kiddo and then be sick yourself. I hope you both feel better soon.

Mornin' All!

glad to hear they may have figured out the migraine source, Daisy. I hope you'll be on the mend soon - what you've been through the last few weeks would be intolerable!

I've got a lot of stuff to do today - and another snow storm is coming in tonight, so I'm going to push to get everything done before we get hit again. I'll be SO GLAD to see March!

Last night my Turkish friend and I spent a couple of hours in my family room doing gentle yoga and meditation, since this counselor he saw yesterday suggested doing one or the other (or both) for stress. Hope it works for him. I'm going to plan on doing some of it with him at first to make sure he's doing it - I don't want him to give up in a couple of days because it "doesn't work" - it does take awhile to see the effects. Anyway, I had fun doing it with him - hope he did, too!

lunch out today with a friend and a 5:00 movie with another friend, so eating is going to be a challenge today. I'm not planning to go off track, though...it'll just be a challenge to stay within my range and to somehow work around that movie...

Accountability was great yesterday

QOTD: I have one friend who probably weighs in the high 300s who constantly complains that she can't lose weight. She keeps saying she should exercise more. I'm sure she's putting away many more calories than she realizes, though. When I was that weight, I'm sure I was averaging 3000 (maybe even more) a day. One doesn't have to binge eat to get that high - three heavy meals can definitely get you there - which is probably why she doesn't realize she's taking in more calories than she thinks she is. I don't say anything, though. I'm not sure she'd be receptive to my opinion and I won't say anything unless she directly asks me. I've told her a few times how many calories I typically eat, though.

3 years 9 months out:

B: homemade Greek coconut yogurt with 1/3 mango, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: meeting a friend at a taqueria. They have those little authentic tacos on 4" tortillas with just meat with cilantro & onions. So either two of those OR one of those + a side of refried beans

AS: something heavy to get me through the 5:00 movie. Either a couple of peanut butter protein balls, or a bowl of TJ's high fiber cereal

D: something light. Maybe TJ's grilled chicken breast strips

ES: none since dinner will be late

Good morning everyone! I am so thankful that our weather broke. Its has been crazy! I live about an hour from Portland in the Gorge and it's been 40 in Portland, but freezing rain and snow here. My daughter was staying in Portland last week in a hotel due to having to work at the hospital and school. I am thankful the weather is better and no more shoveling!!

I am feeling hopeful. I think I have found a new therapist. The one I currently is just okay. She more like hanging out with a friend and paying a $25 copay. The new one is a male. I have never had a male doctor or therapist, so we shall see.

Accountability- I have not been drinking enough water and I can feel it. I feel puffy. I had to take my wedding ring off because I am retaining water. The goal for today is lots of water and hot herbal tea. Also, no jerky. I have been craving salty things during the past few days. I know its hormonal, but I need to step away from the jerky! At least it wasn't a bag of ruffles like pre-WLS.

Food for today-

protein pancakes with WF syrup

Just 2 yogurt

Albacore Tuna with celery and pickles, SG poppyseed dressing

5 oz poached halibut with lemon

I really need to stay focused on protein, protein, protein. I see my surgeon on the 6th of March and I am already feeling anxious about it. My weight is up a bit from last year and I hate it. I just don't him to be disappointed in me. This journey really never does end. We just wake up each day and remain vigilant.
