Thanks for the well wishes Mike!
And that picture! OMG it melted my heart! You, your niece and that little doggie is precious!
I think your friend *****ached out to you about how to lose weight is huge compliment to your success!
I have to say that as I get farther out from surgery I find myself feeling very much like a "normie." I can eat pretty much anything & everything, my portions are bigger now and I easily blend in when out at a restaurant with friends now. My point is people see us who have had WLS as "normal" and obviously appreciate the hard work we have all put in to lose the weight and maintain.
Congrats on your plan working for you, only 7.6lbs to is amazing!! Proud of you!
And btw, nice toque!!
Oh Daisy - I am so sorry! A week of migraine hells sounds intolerable. I am SO encouraged that you have a PLAN and that you can stop taking the five meds that cause these damn migraines. My god you poor thing. I wonder if you may want to get a new PCP...I would be concerned that she doesn't know the side effects of the medicine. Oof. So glad you are on the mend and back among the living.
QOTD: Funny, I have a really close friend/coworker who is probably about 25-30 lbs overweight AND pre-diabetic. She also doesn't know I had WLS. I try to extoll the virtues of protein, but her doctor gave her a book with a title something about How Not to Die, and it advocates a plant-based diet. So she has gone vegan and her meals are things like sweet potatoes for breakfast, lentil soup for lunch, snacks like chips and salsa...isn't losing a pound and is very low on protein...but I don't feel like I am expert enough to tell her to start eating MEAT.
Side note, how will you live without your cans of tuna with balsamic??? I know, I know...I would give that up too to avoid debilitating pain, but that sucks :( Can you eat fresh ahi tuna?
B: 4 oz boar's head ever roast chicken, 1 oz goat cheese
L: homemade broccoli cheese soup. It just sounds good. Lots of cheese and broccoli, also it calls for onion, garlic, carrots, and half and half.
D: Chicken fajita "nachos". Less chips for me, more for Kris. The chicken is leftover from the grill last night, and I will sauté up onions and red pepper.
S: If I need a snack, I have mini peppers and greek yogurt/ranch seasoning prepared :)
E: Spin class. I haven't tried this instructor and I hope I like his music! I hated the music in last week's class!

Hey beautiful! Thanks for the love! My PCP is actually fabulous, I have been with her for 25 + years and its really hard to find Doctors around here so I will stay with her. I think she just did her best in trying to help me since migraines/neurology is not her specialty.
About me not longer having tuna, I had a canned tuna funeral I have like 6 cans in my cupboard that I think I might put out on the side of the lawn for the couple of stray cats we have in the neighbourhood. I can have fresh ahi tuna thank god!!! The Neuro wants me to eat clean, fresh food, nothing canned, boxed, preserved etc. So ahi tuna is still on the menu!
Hope spin class was awesome!
Oh good! I am glad your PCP is awesome and helpful. I mean, we can't expect a generalist to be an expert in every single part of the body! I also love my PCP (well actually, the Nurse Practitioner who I always see) so I know what you mean!
That's so nice that you will have a canned tuna smorgasbord for the local stray cats. Although, how the hell do stray cats survive in your cold and snowy area?!?!
I love the idea of no preservatives, no boxed, no canned food...I mostly stay within that, but then again I am sure my daily deli meat (though high quality and delicious) has nitrates and god knows what else! LOL! At least you can have fresh fish, chicken, steak etc. I hope your migraine plan is super successful! XOXOXO
Good Morning Daisy and Menu Friends!
Daisy, I'm so sorry you've been suffering with those horrible migraines, but I'm glad you finally got in to see the migraine specialist and that you have a plan! I sure hope she can help you!

Thanks for the love Karen.
I must admit I am totally jealous of your carb & calorie numbers. I am very carb sensitive and I can't go above 65 or I start to put on weight. I also clearly have crappy metabolism because I can't go above 1100 calories (at the most) or I also put on weight.
Are your banana brownies homemade or store bought? Sounds yummy!
Daze, I'm so glad to see you back here on OH . I also couldn't be happier to hear that you've gotten in to see a new doctor and have a new plan forward. Fingers crossed that this is a protocol that gives you more relief!
I've officially moved from the "priming" stage of my IVF cycle to the "stimulation" phase. This means today is my first day with FIVE INJECTIONS - what fun! 2 in the morning and 3 in the evening. I don't mind the needles and (so far) the only side effect I'm experiencing is tiredness. Send me good vibes, friends!
QOTD: I know so many self-sabotagers (myself included), that's it's too numerous to count. Collectively we've lost and gained thousands of pounds I'm sure. But what drives me crazy are the people who think they know soooo much of nutrition and healthy eating and jump from one fade to another. My BIL (who admittedly I don't like anyway) goes from one fade to another like keto and intermittent fasting. I know there's good research out there on both, but he does his own version of whatever fade he's into and it's just insane. He reads some Reddit threads and thinks he's an expert - it makes me soooo mad!
Accountability: yesterday was rough, folks, really rough - there were cookies involved. Many cookies
TSS: 4 years, 11 months
B: coffee with half and half, egg cups
S: cottage cheese
L: rotisserie chicken and a string cheese
S: almonds and an apple
D: SW chicken (something new I'm trying from Aldi) and brown rice
S: PB pretzels
E: Aqua Zumba night - fingers crossed I have the energy after work
Over the last two weeks I was focusing on getting my liquid intake up and I'm feeling really good about that. This week I'm focusing on using my sit/stand desk and actually STANDING more. I'm starting small - 30 minutes a day of standing to work.
