What's on your Wednesday Menu RNY'ers?
my actual medicated IVF prep was not that long...I am pretty sure I only had to do the injections for 2 weeks...I did have to be on a high dose of BCP for a month or 2 prior to make sure my cycle was regulated and to prevent cysts from forming, and I had to use a topical hormone cream which was really unpleasant...but once I stared the injectables I am pretty sure it was only for 11-14 days but it was a couple times a day I think...and I had to go in for labs and ultrasounds every day or every other day during that time to measure my follicles and hormone levels.
then there was one big injection the day before my retrieval...I made my DH give me that one (it had to go into the butt muscle!). I just had to do the IVF one time and got very lucky!...I did a few rounds of Clomid prior to that and some IUI's which were much less invasive but didn't work.
I did gain about 10lbs during the process but I am pretty sure it was just fluid.
I know the longer you are taking the hormones, the higher risk for weight gain.

Mornin'!
I was snowed in yesterday so I ended up making some things - protein/peanut butter balls, pumpkin protein pancakes, yogurt, and cottage cheese. I don't know how I got this pumpkin protein pancake idea in my head, but I realized my typical yogurt and blueberry sauce topping wasn't going to cut it with them - so I decided to brave the snow and go to the store to get some apples (to make an apple/cinnamon compote). I got stuck at the end of our driveway thanks to the snow plow, so I got in 15 minutes of shoveling (to get the car unstuck). More exercise - yay! Anyway, had the pumpkin pancakes with L&F vanilla yogurt & my apple compote for dinner last night - loved it! It looks like it snowed more overnight. DH is outside snowblowing and has been for awhile. I hope I can get out today. I'm starting to feel like a caged animal. If I can, I'm definitely going to the gym or yoga studio - I'm feeling very sluggish after a low-exercise week or two (due to the weather).
QOTD: I didn't really have any obesity-related health issues other than early onset arthritis in one of my hips and knees. Of course, the damage that was done is permanent, but I have a lot less pain walking around on them now than I did at 300+ lbs. Also, my lipids and glucose were all at the high end of normal pre-surgery, and now they're all ridiculously low (e.g. total cholesterol hovers around 140).
3 years 8 months out:
B: homemade Greek coconut yogurt with 1/3 mango, coffee with half & half
MS: pumpkin protein latte shake
L: 3 pumpkin protein pancakes (they're small) with 1/2 container of vanilla L&F yogurt and (no sugar added) apple compote
AS: baby carrots with 2 T hummus or raw cauliflower with 1/4 C ranch Greek yogurt
D: 2 oz chicken breast and chopped raw veggies on a Flat-Out wrap
ex: I hope so
Be careful as you venture out! Hope you enjoy yourself!

Good morning, everybody
We didn't get much snow, more icy stuff. All night long we could hear ice hitting the roof.
Our trains have been having trouble with all of the icy weather. Yesterday they had to cancel the 8:00 and 8:30 trains, so I had to take a 9:50 train that didn't get into Chicago until about 11:00. But I didn't want to drive if the weather wasn't even safe for train travel. Tomorrow I am trying to work from home so that I can get Marilyn a valentine and do some other errands between calls. So, today's objective is to prevent anything that will interfere with that plan.
QOTD: I'm sure that everybody has seen the poster with the fat family and all the diseases that they have. Well, I didn't have Asthma and I wasn't eligible for the woman's reproductive problems, but I managed to rack up most of the rest of the issues. Since surgery I have gone from 8 pills and two shots down to three pills and no shots. I would love, love to get off of the CPAP, but I won't know that until summer. Right now its irritating my nose and I'm afraid I will end up looking like Arte Lang.
Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: brisket
Snack: Light and Fit
Dinner: Maybe leftover chicken fajitas
Exercise: rest day
Have a great day, all!

I agree that getting rid of the CPAP was wonderful!

Good morning Peach and menu friends! Happy Hump Day!! This week is so long.
I am so disappointed that my fridge has been delayed until monday...maybe Wednesday. I can make due with the wine fridge for a few more days but it's annoying! First world problems, I know, so trying not to whine.
QOTD - off 2 diabetes meds (one of which was over $1K a quarter copay!); off HBP meds (although I do now have the low blood pressure issues but I can control that with water and planning for the orthostatic drops); and off the "preventative" cholesterol meds. I am curious to get my one year blood work to see how my cholesterol looks -- last time it had spiked in a bad way but the nurse thought it was just part of the impact of all the changes and wasn't concerned. I'll be a bit annoyed if I suddenly have a cholesterol issue but will deal.
Menu today is
Coffee with half and halfX3, 1 tea with half and half and then water/tea all day.
B - 4 oz deli ham, 1 cheese stick
L - L&F greek
D - 4 oz deli ham, 1 oz goat cheese
S Oikos protein crunch
I may flip the meals around...and I may leave the house and go get stuff to make a burger, I'm craving one...we'll see.
Have a wonderful wednesday all!

I love that you're surviving with a wine fridge - though I'm assuming you're using it for more than wine - but in my mind, you're living off of wine!
Also, I'm sorry you're without a big fridge right now, that would definitely be rough!
