What's on your menu (Tuesday), RNYers?
Good morning. We got a little bit of snow overnight, but not enough to cancel school or work.
I reserved my flights for Australia last night. To my great surprise we head east from Chicago. That is going to be a long flight.
We made a new plan where our whole family will go to the gym between 6-8 pm on Saturday and Sunday. That would be great if it happens. But the problem is that the gym closes at 8, so if they hem and haw and finally decide at 7:15 that they will start the program the next day/week/month, it will be too late for me to go. I am going to be supportive but suspect this ends with me doing pushups and situps in the basement on Saturday night by myself.
QOTD: Not sure, I just go with what my wife wants. For some reason our upstairs heat is lumpy. Its freezing in our room but tropical in my youngest sons room and the hall.
Breakfast: Bratwurst
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: fish
Snack: light and fit
Dinner: Chicken fajita mix
Exercise - cycle.

Our house was built in 1951 and only has a crawl space so the floors are SO cold! Our living room is warm, the kitchen is moderate (unless I have the oven on baking!) and the bedroom and office are completely freezing. In the bedroom, I curl up under my heavy blankets, but when I'm working at the computer in the office, I am completely freezing. Hence the frequent pictures of me in my hat & with the hood of my sweatshirt up.

Me too, Kelly. As you know, with teenagers, things are often easier said than done.

Oh wow, I would not have expected that....are you landing in Perth or anywhere further west? How long is the flight? I think I was 15 hours Melbourne to LAX..and that was so long.

We fly from Chicago to Abu Dhabi and then from Abu Dhabi to Sydney. I booked our flights through the cruise line because they were a good price and we needed 5 tickets. I actually like long flights but this is going to be something different. I guess that I can catch up on my reading.
You had a good post on what constitutes going somewhere, and pretty much everybody agreed that airports don't count. So, I may try and arrange a car tour around the city so that we can count U.A.E. as a country visited.

Oh, that's a great way to take advantage of the layover!! Does your cruise go down to Tasmania? I really loved my time in Australia -- but Tasmania was my favorite part by far...and then I loved seeing the penguins at Phillip Island. You'll have a great trip no matter what!

Hi Jen and team! I second that sentiment of "Daisy, I hope you are not in migraine hell"!
QOTD: Do you know, I have NO idea!!! Kris manages our variety of thermostats. I don't touch 'em. He pays the heating bill so I am sure he's on it, making sure we aren't wasteful. It always feels fine to me, but his 16 year old skinny daughter walks around wrapped up in a fleece blanket lol. Meanwhile, his 13 year old son wears shorts and a t-shirt with no socks! Ha!
I am off on an Icelandic adventure today! I will be reading this week but may not post as much. I am so excited. Snow is in the forecast every day. Here, it's freezing rain here and the schools are closed. Wussies.
Food is "let's eat everything from the fridge before leave":
B: Two hard-boiled eggs mashed up with cottage cheese and Everything But the Bagel spice
L: A low carb wrap with Boars Head Ever Roast chicken and herbed havarti, a little mayo
D: TBD! I will be crossing the pond on a low cost carrier with crap food for sale, so might try to grab something at the airport
E: Nada. The next few days will consist of a Reykjavic walking tour, snowmobiling on a glacier, hiking a volcano, swimming in a hot lagoon, and more! I assume I will get a TON of steps in! I will check in and read the posts, but might not have a chance to write much! Will miss you all and share pics when I get back!
