What's on your menu (Tuesday), RNYers?
Liz - I think that you are in Boca Grande? Do you love it? We are going to Palm Island for spring break in six weeks.

We are actually in Port Charlotte, but go to Boca Grande to the beach and restaurants. Palm Island looks like a resort? That should be a lot of fun! It will be nice and warm here then and I would guess it has the same Caribbean feel as BG.

Palm Island is half resort and half houses. We are doing a VRBO on the house half. We have family in Englewood, so we would like to retire in that general area. Boca Grande if I can wor****il full retirement age but probably the other side of the bridge if I don't, LOL.

Good morning Jen and Menu crew. I started to read posts yesterday and got pulled in another direction. I decided I could not justify my trip to Bologna and once i gave my answer the Brand Managers all felt I should have gone. Next year. I dont know why I was not as excited to go as I should have been.
QOTD - Heat is off in our bedroom, we keep a majority of the rooms at 65 and the kitchen, dining and main living room at closer to 70. We have electric baseboard heat and each room is a zone with a thermostat.
B - Egg salad & ham roll up
L - Salami and cheese
S - cukes and ranch dressing
D - Wings ( garlic parm) and chef salad
E - gym night if the weather cooperates.

Sometimes you have to go with your gut on big decisions like that! I have a friend whose house has that zone/baseboard heat combo and it seems like smart idea!

Hey Mike, what are you doing at the gym these days?
Do you rotate your workout? I remember that you worked out with a trainer a while back, are you doing that any more?

Good morning all, snow and freezing rain here. I'm delaying the opening of the library until 11. Most of the schools around here have gone from 2-hour delay to closure. It looks like by late morning it should be just raining here and we're open until 9pm, so didn't make sense to close completely.
QOTD: We generally have the thermostat set at 68 if we're here and 62 overnight and then we're out. We have a Nest, so it knows when we're home and not. DH and I do fight about how early it should start warming up in the morning. Since we both can connect to the Nest with our phones that adds another level to our thermostat wars.
I have an evening event, so regardless of the late opening, I'm not heading in until after noon. Currently drinking my coffee with leisure and watching the Today Show. Will do some exercise here at home too - maybe a yoga video? Or some body weight exercises, not sure yet!
TSS: almost 5 years
B: coffee with half and half, egg cups
S: cottage cheese
L: rotisserie chicken and a string cheese
S: apple
D: we're having Panera catering at tonight's meeting, so I'm planning to snag a half turkey sandwich and salad, forgo the cookie - even though that will take all the strength I have in me LOL
S: if I stick to my guns and forgo the 440 calorie Panera cookie, I will have Girl Scout Shortbreads when I get home
Be careful out there, all those facing inclement weather conditions!

I have an app now for my thermostat and for my garage door opener; part of my goals for this week are to get them up and running. The garage door opener might be first since I did have to circle the block this morning to make sure I closed it!

Ya! Tonight's work event is getting postponed, so I can go to Aqua Zumba tonight and don't have to do a dreaded home workout!

Morning all and Jen, what are you doing up so early?!
It is cold and rainy here and balancing right around freezing. I was really nervous about the morning drive and went the long way around to avoid some of the steep hills just in case. Glad that I didn't have to scrape ice off the windshield though! While I'm always cold now, I don't really mind the snow...I just layer, but ice is just scary! We are Mid-Atlantic and because of the more moderate temps, we get more ice than snow alot of winters...
I brought cookies to work for Valentine's Day...chocolate chip & decorated sugar cookies. They were fun to make and I promptly brought them to work because I have a GREAT love affair with sprinkles! I did eat half a cookie and gave the other half to DW. It was divine with pretty pink icing and heart sprinkles. I enjoyed my 2 bites very much! We also had a friend over for dinner last night and I made a rustic raspberry Nutella tart. It was really rich and heavy but not even a temptation for me. I had some berries with a small sprinkle of slivered almonds.
QOTD: we keep our small old house pretty chilly to keep the heating bills in check. The floors in particular are always cold and my hands and feet are freezing! I sometimes turn up the heat a bit on my days at home and put it up to 70 when we have people coming over. Otherwise, I bundle up (hat, sweatshirt, fuzzy slippers) and snuggle under the heavy blankets at night.
Menu:
B: scrambled eggs, 1/2 turkey sausage patty
S: Chomps
L: beef chili
S: ?
D: Still haven't made the pork chops...
Exercise: maybe a walk in the rain or in the hallways at work.
