What's on your menu (Tuesday), RNYers?
on 2/12/19 3:32 am
Good morning! I don't see a post so I'll start us off...because I have a QOTD, lol! Daisy, I hope you are doing okay and not in migraine hell.
QOTD - what do you keep your thermostat at (winter edition)? Living in AZ for 6 years, I literally left my furnace off in the winter; I had a small space heater to warm up the bathroom before I showered and that was it. Now that I'm back in a place with winter, I'm struggling to figure out what to set the thermostat at -- right now, I have it at 68 when I'm home during the day, 65 at night and 63 when I'm gone. I have it run up to 70 for about half an hour before I get out of bed and then drop down to 63 when I leave. I feel cold but I'm always cold.
Accountability - last night I had about 4 oz of something called Chocolate Covered Cherry Popcorn. This was a very bad choice and I had my first dumping experience. Those of you that shared "if you dump, you'll know" were correct. I threw the rest of the popcorn away (once I was able to get up from my fetal position on the bathroom floor).
Menu today:
Coffee +half and half X3; tea and water
B - 4 oz ever roast deli chicken
L - 4 oz ever roast deli chicken + skyr
D - 4 oz ever roast deli chicken
S - L&F greek
Should put me at 560/99/24
Have a great Tuesday all!

It's another snow day here! I should say ice/freezing rain day.
I was productive yesterday and got half of the basement cleaned today I am going to try to tackle the other half of the basement. DH got in the way yesterday. Everything I put in the donation box he took out saying that he needed it. Today he isn't here so I will be able to work more productively.
QOTD: I don't touch the thermostat but DH has it set pretty warm because he is always cold. I think it is 74 degrees when we are home and 68 when we are gone. But, we have a multi-fuel stove he runs non-stop and that offsets the cost of propane. The stove burns corn and he gets the corn from the family farm. Basically, we heat for cheap and it is always warm in here.
Accountability: Snacking was the name of my game yesterday. I did, however, get on the treadmill every hour on the hour and walked for 20 minutes until I hit 10,000 steps. I will probably play that game with myself today as well because of the weather. Oh, and the sugar-free cupcake wreaked havoc on my system. Sugar-free = death for me. I should know this but I wanted a cupcake for my birthday.

Your treadmill idea is awesome....a great way to get your exercise in! My sister has a wood stove furnace setup in addition to propane, it's pretty cool to have options like that!

Honestly Jen, I don't know what we would do without that stove. Our propane bill would be astronomical! I like it warm, don't get me wrong, but he likes it too warm. He has lost 100 pounds too. I had to make up the treadmill game because otherwise, I would have sat on my behind all day and that is not good! Have a great day!

I too hope Daisy is okay! We had a good day with DD yesterday at the beach. Today I am getting the final paperwork done to fully enroll DH in daycare here, but we are going to a "unique" restaurant on a river tonight.
QOTD: At home in the winter, generally I kept it at 70 during the day and 65 at night and when gone. Here in Florida, ideally I don't use AC or heat, but when the nights were in the 40's last month I would put it on 70 for about an hour in the morning, then turn it off. Right now it is humid and low 80's during the day with low 70's at night so I have the AC set at 75 with the ceiling fans running.
Accountability: 100% right on, but up .8 pounds (due to many previous days of indiscriminate eating).
2 Years 10 months post-op (maintaining below goal for 2 years, 2 months)
Always lots of coffee...
B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: Tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese or deli chicken and cottage cheese
D: Out to dinner - maybe catfish
S: sweetened cottage cheese

I've not been a huge fan of cottage cheese...I remember one diet where you ate it on toast and I mentally cringe. I've seen some that are packaged like yogurt with different flavors, I might try one of those and see if my tastes have changed.

I do eat a ton of the stuff. I like it any way: plain, melted in my eggs, and sweetened. I sweeten it with the same stuff one would sweeten yogurt with (fruits, preserves, skinny syrups). The homemade version works great sweetened as it is softer and more creamy tasting than commercial versions. I make it in the Instant Pot (takes about 2 hours elapsed time, but very little actual effort).
