What's on your menu today (Monday) RNYers?
Where do you live? I live in Havertown and work in Radnor Township.

I live in Cecil County, Maryland. I am about 5 miles from the Delaware state line and maybe 10 miles from the Pennsylvania state line. I'm in DE, PA and NJ all of the time because of family and friends. I don't shop around here because being a school teacher in a small rural area, everyone knows everyone. So I often go out of state. I have heard of Havertown and Radnor Township. Not sure if I've ever been there.

Good morning. I had a great week in New York City last week. I flew in early on Sunday so that I could see the Super Bowl. The New York weather was much milder than Chicago, so I got lots of walking in. Sunday afternoon I walked around Central Park and went to the American Museum of Natural History. The museum is huge, so I spent most of my time in the African and North American mammal sections. One night I went to a New York Rangers game at Madison Square Garden. And my hotel was close enough to my office that I could walk to work each morning.
I didn't realize that I packed a french cuff shirt one day so I had to make a choice between floppy pirate cuffs and an impromptu cuff link purchase. The only place that I could find cuff links was from Davidoff, so that was an expensive lesson.
Accountability: mini bar salted cashews and Madison Square Garden popcorn were the main offenders.
QOTD: I was able to go back to the gym about month ago after several months on and off crutches because of gout attacks. Getting my strength and mobility back has been a challenge.
Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese:
Snack: protein bar
Lunch: Chicken
Snack: light and fit
Dinner: not sure
Have a great day, all.

"Floppy pirate cuffs" - ha! My dad always wore French cuffs with cuff links. I miss him.
The Natural History Museum is one of my favorite places in the world! I spent many Saturdays there as a kid, and took my son there later as well. I also always enjoyed the Hayden Planetarium next door. But my favorite museum in the world remains the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I love NYC!
I'm so glad your gout stacks have subsided. May they never return!
Good Morning Hillary and menu crew!
QOTD: biggest challenge? Absolutely my brain. Body dysmorphia. Challenging what is normal and not normal. Realizing I am not such a special snowflake and some of my thoughts are disordered eating, and need to be challenged.
Have been doing food prep, including portioning it. Which has been great. Except I want to fit all the food into my menu on Monday. LOL.
- Coffee w/cream
- overnight oats and protein
- avocado toast and egg
- falafel and Mediterranean quinoa
- chicken, zucchini
- S: yogurt, fruit, protein (optional)
So yes I do eat 5-6 times a day. I do eat carbs. It is necessary for health reasons-hypoglycemia and I have combatted muscle wasting. I also needed to combat disordered eating post-WLS ... really due to fear of regain.
I try to eat more early in the day, because if I have not fueled my body enough I will make poor choices and graze at night or I am playing catch up with getting enough protein in. I never write quantities because I never know how much I will actually eat. Just my little disclaimer as many of you are early out and may wonder why I eat the way I do. I feel so much better since changing my diet, but it was a hard sell to my brain. I needed to listen to people smarter than me.
ex: yoga or HIIT on bike- opposites I know... we will see.
