What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
If you can't find individually packaged smaller portions, I have sometimes portioned out (carefully counting) acceptable amounts into plastic snack baggies. Not that you can't eat more than one bag, of course, but not having to be accountable for counting when you're hungry can help.

I have found a bag of 10 1 oz bags of salted cashews at Trader Joes. I weighed a couple of the bags (contents) and they came in between .9 and 1.1 so pretty spot on; I just use 1.1 in all my tracking. I did buy another container of the hatch green chile almonds and will be putting them into 1 oz snack bags and putting them back into the container for storage, lol.

I added in 1 and then 2 small portions of fruit and a very small measured portion of almonds. I also added in larger portions of veggies. They added fiber and variety to my diet which was nice.

I started with 5 twice a day. That was enough to feel like I'd had a treat and have the yummy crunch without being very many calories or fat. I think 10 would be okay too since I've seen 26 almonds as a "portion". As Kelly said, having them pre-counted and pre-packaged helps with just sticking your hand in the big bag and grabbing WAY more than you should have.
