Good morning Karen and friends! I hope you did not, in fact, have frozen pipes! Hubby and I realized this morning that we never did anything about our two outside facets (we moved into this house not quite a year ago), so we're hoping for the best.

Apparently it's about 8 here right now, so positively balmy compared to many of you. Some near by schools are having a delayed start, but not my town or my library's town. My library is in an extremely affluent town, but there are still folks struggling, so I do try to keep us open in these kinds of situations so people can come in to get warm if needed.

Waiting right now for my aunt to pick me up for a breakfast date! My aunt babysits my 5 year old niece 2 days a week and often invite me to go to breakfast with them and I rarely can - so I decided this week to take some time and go. It will be a lovely start to my cold, cold day.

TSS: 4 years, 11 months

B: scrambled eggs and bacon (and I'm accounting for a piece of toast)

S: apple

L: egg salad and string cheese

D: a lemony turkey meatball recipe

S: it's book club night....which has all kinds of potential for poor choices, so I've banked a bunch of calories and plan for cheese and something sweet (never know what the host will have)

Be safe!

What is your bookclub reading? I will have to find a good bookclub here -- it takes a bit of trial and error to make a good fit!

Morning all and I hope that everyone is safe and warm wherever you are with no frozen pipes! Karen, please be careful but I know how important getting out is to both you and Lily!

I have to admit that I am really struggling today. Between the cold and utter physical and emotional exhaustion, I opted to stay home in bed. Well I got up and fed and treated the cats and got myself a cup of coffee, then back under the blankets with DW and 4 of the 5 cats. I need a break from life but I can't see how to make it happen. That's just reality right now, which is greatly depressing.

That said, there is success in my life too. Saturday is the 2 year anniversary of my consult for RNY. I had surgery on 2/28/17 and have lost about 132 pounds and am maintaining. My life has completely changed and I am in better health and shape than I've ever been in my life. I have to remind myself of the successes sometimes to keep life in perspective and to remember that this is a daily decision to be healthy not MAGIC!

My goals for today are to limit my coffee, to drink at least 80 oz of plain water and to be as mindful and protein forward as possible about what I eat today. One step at a time my friends.

Sorry to hear that you are struggling. Glad you are taking care of yourself and you have a goal for today. One day at a time is a good motto, I use it all of the time.

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Glad you took the day to take care of yourself. Maybe find something to binge watch? Something like Hallmark movies or reality TV....guilty pleasure watching.

Glad you are still looking at the half full glass.

Take it easy and as Kelly said find a binge watch show. I'm obsessed with Americans right now. It mostly takes place in DC. They are a couple of Russian spies. You can watch on Amazon prime.

My sister is newly on dialysis. She passes the time streaming shows. She made me promise to watch it! I'm making her watch Bosch on Amazon.
