Good morning Daisy, sucks that you are suffering from migraines, any chance it is related to the stressful drive home? Quiet evening at home for me last evening, Joddie taught a refresher CPR class right after work for some friends that own a daycare and I worked out at home. Our storm was a flop, I would say we got 4".

L - Salami and Cheese

Thank you!!

Ironically, success also leads to failure for me. I am hoping that my new dedication to the basics of WLS and sticking to it will get me to goal and allow me to maintain. I need to keep this mindset. I am on a roll now, but need to recover quickly when I hit a bump in the road.

I can relate. I just asked myself last night, "What is holding you back? Why are you afraid to be successful?" Things I have to figure out so that I can continue this journey with a healthier mindset.

Mornin' All!

just checked the temp. It's -25 F right now in Wisco with a windchill of -40 to -60. Good Lord. I'm freezing. The furnace is working fine, so either it's drafty windows or it's in my mind. At any rate, I'm in my bed with lots of blankets and I'm NOT getting out of it for awhile unless I have to!! There's a friend of a cousin of friend coming in tonight from Turkey. We're the "backup" for picking him up at the bus stop (at midnight!) if his friend can't make it. I'm hoping the friend can make it...I don't want to go out in this *at all*!!

accountability was good but, like Karen, my weight is up this morning. Boo. I did a half hour of aerobics yesterday in the basement - will do it again today if I can manage to get down there (I'm sure it's colder down there than it is up here)

QOTD: I hated math for most of K-12, and I hated chemistry in high school. Oddly, I surprisingly loved Calculus when I took it in college (I was dreaded taking it - but - what a surprise! It turned out to be one of my favorite classes!). I never took chemistry in college - I just couldn't - and we had other science options, so I took biology instead). My favorite classes were foreign languages. I took French, Spanish, and German before I got out of high school (and all three in college, too).

3 years 7 months out:

B: protein shake, coffee with half & half

MS (actually, brunch): I'm going to try my hand at making protein pancakes and top them with one of my homemade (no sugar added) fruit compotes

AS: light yogurt or baby carrots with 2 T hummus

D: Mississippi pot roast or turkey chili

It was 18 when I came home from the gym, which probably feels like a heatwave to you but it is cold. Our 'arctic blast' hasn't arrived yet. I'm already cold and our thermostat read 78 degrees! We have a multipurpose pellet/corn stove and my husband gets corn from the farm in exchange for doing electric work on the farm. So thankful for this source of heat. Stay warm!

We are doing okay here. I've continued to be in a funk so Accountability has not been great.

We just got a new TV for our den with a fire stick integrated. I'm not putting a cable box on it. We have Netflix, Amazon Prime, and a 30 day trial of Sling. Has anyone else unplugged? If so what would be a cost effective way to get most channels? I want to be able to see my dramas from the regular channels, but I don't have to see them live. If this works, I'm getting rid of the cable boxes for the other TVs as I am so frustrated with their service and cost!

QOTD: I loved Math! And I hated History. I love the logic of math and hated having to memorize dates/events. I could do it to get good grades, but then I would forget it (I think my brain knows it can look it up if needed).

2 Years 10 months post-op (maintaining below goal for 2 years, 2 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Leftover pot roast or chicken

S: sweetened cottage cheese

We are unplugged. I also subscribe to Hulu for 11.99 a month. We are able to watch all of the network shows a day after they play with zero commercials. I bought a box that is similar to Roku and Firestick that also allows us to watch live TV and sporting events, movies, etc.....
