Mike, I might have missed this if you explained it before. So what's the reasoning behind the fasting? Is it to limit the intake of food? How do you decide when to break the fast in the morning?

Congrats on your success so far.

Hi Sheila - My wife and I are currently following the same eating habits, ( notice I did not mention dieting)..LOL, she recommended we try it for two days a week. I have read that it can stimulate metabolism, allows your body to tap into reserves, but in the end it is a conscious effort to not graze in the evenings that has helped me the most. We are doing it two days per week and it has worked for us thus far. I am unsure at this point if it has really helped me or not? I feel the changes I have made to my diet and routine are the biggest contributors to my recent success.

As far as knowing when to eat breakfast, I try to keep my window of eating to 8 hours.

My center just did a Facebook video yesterday on eating and she said fasting is good. It helps get the insulin that is pumped out when you eat to have time to rest and it will eat up your reserves and increase your metabolism.

Sorry you didn't get good news on job stuff. It is great that you are trying to stay positive and it's awesome that you are seeing scale movement in the midst of it.

Happy Tuesday!

Daisy, that sounds like a horrible drive, I can't imagine. We had one snow storm like that when our office was in Boulder, when I heard it was taking 6 hours for people to do the 45 minute commute, I went back to the office and slept on the floor.

QOTD - I was in track in jr high and baseball as a freshman; I also did "knowledge bowl" and band from 6th grade on and was in speech and debate starting as a sophomore. I can argue any side of anything, lol.

Yesterday was my dad's birthday so I called to wish him HBD and told him I was homeless...which was and is true for another 6 hours. He totally didn't get what I was saying so my "surprise I'm back in Colorado" was a bit traumatic for him, lol. He was really happy once he put all the pieces together!

Eats today

Coffee & half and half, then water and tea

B - L&F greek

L - ready egg go pack

D - TBD, some of my friends are coming over to see the house before I put anything in it and give me ideas for where to put stuff and they are bringing meat and cheese (and folding chairs).

Stay warm all of you in the deep freeze...but please don't call for global warming to come back just because it's cold outside.
