Hello Protein Pals! How are you all? I am good.
We had a major snow storm come through yesterday, and my commute home took 5 HOURS! Its normally an hour, and only because people can't drive in my city. They see a snowflake and they go into total and complete panic. And to top it off, and I kid you not this really happened, as I was a hour into my commute my DRIVER side wiper blade broke off! DRIVER SIDE! I literally drove home the rest of the way with my head out the window! I was soaked from the snow coming in the window and from having my defrost on HIGH to melt the snow off. I know it was stupid & dangerous but to get CAA (which is the same as your AAA) was a 3 hour wait. It was an effing nightmare. This is what my windshield looked like the whole ride home...I was so stressed out when I got home, I didn't eat so that is a win!
Accountability: was great, I ate less than I planned due to my nightmare of a day! But I didn't make my liquids target so will be slamming liquids today.
QOTD: Did you play sports as a kid growing up? And if you did what was your fav sport? If you didn't play sports what was the one sport you always wanted to try? I played many sports as a kid, baseball, soccer, gymnastics, jazz & ballet dance, competitive tennis and competitive swimming. I wish I had of stayed with swimming but as soon as my parents sold the house we had with the pool it didn't swim much anymore.

OMG Daisy that's awful! Five hours?! I would have been cursing! I bet you looked a sight - hanging your head out the window in a snowstorm! LOL sorry, I know it didn't feel funny, and I know it was dangerous, but I am imagining myself on the road and seeing your beautiful face out the window like you're Amy or Oliver!
Do you even get snow days in Canada? I swear, in Michigan we used to pray for snow days but as soon as the snow fell, the plows and salt trucks were on the road and school and businesses were open! Now here in MD, the second it snows an inch, everything shuts down. Mid-Atlantic people are so dramatic!
QOTD: When I was little my mom had me in soccer and t-ball and swimming, but once I was 5 and my brother was 3, my parents got divorced, and money was tight for a single mom going back to school. So those activities stopped for the most part. My mom worked full-time and her friend was our babysitter and my memories are basically of my mom getting to Sue's house to pick us up and they would drink wine for an hour or two while we ran around with Sue's kids like lunatics! I wish I had stayed in sports/been sporty since maybe my weight wouldn't have crept up so high!
B: I am up wayyyyy too early today but I plan to get some work done and then hit the grocery store in time to get back for a 10 am call - I am out of my Boars Head Ever Roast deli chicken and that can't happen!!! So multiple coffees with half and half, 4 oz deli meat, 1 oz either cheddar or goat cheese
L: Leftover pasta bake made with Trader Joes sweet Italian sausage, scallions, cream sauce. I go heavy on the sausage, Kris loved the pasta as well
D: A new spicy honey chicken thighs in the cast iron skillet with potatoes recipe. Luckily potatoes don't call to me so I will have plenty of chicken!
E: Rest day. I went to toning and boxing last night. Wowza. In our toning class, one of the instructors who was in the class with us (taking the class) dislocated her shoulder!!! You could see it! It was insane. She finally popped it back in. I don't know who was more sweaty and nauseated - her or me! Apparently being a doctor is not in my future...ugh...I felt so sick seeing her go through that!
I live in Michigan and all the schools and colleges are closed yesterday and today. Some schools are closed for tomorrow. This snow storm seems worse today, the visibility is bad today compared to yesterday.
Good morning menu friends! It is 7 degrees here and feels like-4 so there will be no exercise today except walking in the warehouse at work. With 2 space heaters and the furnace coming on occassionally we kept the camper at 71. We have no water in it as its winterized so went to the duplex next door where youngest son is staying to shower and cook dinner. If it gets as cold as they predict we may end up taking Lily and sleeping there tonight we'll have to see if we can keep the temp up enough in here or not. There's plenty of room and we have permission so not a problem if we do. By Friday temps are supposed to be above freezing again. Crazy weather even for Illinois. Accountability perfect and I set out snacks 2 times and had nothing. Only 1.8 miles walking but with weather and no treadmill that can't be helped. Weight today 123.4. I need to get more liquids today--only 78 oz yesterday. Heres todays food B 1/2 c steelcut oats with protein and peanut butter L 2 slices turkey 1 slice cheese D 4 oz shrimp 2 bites cheesy grits S meat stick. QOTD no sports as I was clumsy and obese even as a child. Have a great day everyone and make your very best choices!
Good morning Daisy and menu crew, the storm is heading our way and our area has been down graded only 5-7" of snow for us. What a ****ty drive home, I feel for you, I would have been stressed out too. Does Ontario have a Snow Tire Law requiring all vehicles have snow tires? I know Quebec does and I think it is a good law.
Qotd - Hockey was my favorite sport, My Dad would flood a rink in our yard each winter and our home was the local hangout, we would also skate on the lake and area ponds, winters were longer and colder back then. I am still playing today.
Accountability - I am fasting between 7 pm and 11 am and started Sunday evening. Will eat Breakfast at regular time tomorrow morning. I have dropped another 1.8 pounds from yesterday!!!!! I am beyond happy. I have been battling getting to 195 for 2 years and I finally feel I am in the mind set that I will get there. I will not get ****y, confident and fall back into " I got this mode" .
*** Edited to add - the biggest reason for my success thus far is getting back to basics. Weighing and measuring, planning, no grazing or snacking, saying NO and telling myself it is NOT OK to open the door to just a bite. ( some people can do this, I am not one of them) and I have increased my water intake dramatically. Just doing everything I did during the Honeymoon phase.
B - Scrambled eggs and salami
L - Chicken, Bacon, Broccoli Ranch Casserole
S - Cukes and Ranch
D - Beef Stroganoff with zoodles
E - Will run 3 miles on dreadmill at home.
