Hello Menu Makers! How are you all? How was your weekend? We are still in a deep FREEZE here (as I think many of you are as well) and we got lots of snow on the weekend. It is supposed to warm up by the weekend, fingers crossed.

Accountability: Excellent. I had a "small pouch" weekend and barely ate. It happens every now and then. Oh and for all that asked, I didn't buy the Crickets that I posted pics about for Photo Friday, I was just intrigued that they are now a "thing." I might buy them one day and if I do will be sure to report back to you all.

QOTD: Pre surgery were you someone who went to sit down restaurants a lot or did you go to drive through's a lot? Me it was all about the Drive Through's. I was a frequent flyer at Taco Bell, McDonalds, Tim Hortons (this is a coffee/donut place in Canada that is pretty much the exact same as the US "Dunkin Donuts"), Subway Subs and any pizza joint where I could pick up a "slice" or two, or three!

Time since surgery: 5 yrs + 2 mos

B: 2 decaf coffees with "Silk" Coconut milk then homemade egg salad - 1 cup

L: can of solid white tuna over salad greens with Balsamic dressing

S: 2oz of whole raw almonds & 10 green grapes

D: 5oz of baked chicken breast with steamed green beans

S: Triple zero yogurt

TOTALS: 903 calories, 100 protein, 49 carbs

V: PatchMD patches are on + oral B12

E: 5km walk at lunch then 5km hike with the dogs in the snow

L: 150oz of liquids is my minimum

Have an awesome day all, hope your Monday is great!

Good Morning Daisy and Menu Friends,

The weekend flew by. Saturday we got together with another wls couple (we were my doctors first couple and they were her second couple) for dinner. It was fun and we have so much more in common than just wls. Sunday we had friends come over for lunch and exchange Christmas gifts... yes, I know it's way past Christmas but our schedules were just so busy.

It is supposed to snow and get cold tomorrow afternoon. I am wondering what the school system will do with the cold temps. The last time there was a 'deep freeze' they delayed a few mornings.

QOTD: I was a volume eater. DH and I would go out and stuff our faces. I was never a big fast foodie.

TSS: 1 year and 1-month weight: fluctuating at the moment

B: coffee with a splash of cream, overnight oats

S: PP chocolate shake

L: Bubba turkey burger with lettuce, tomato, and onion

S: a mix of blueberries, strawberries, and grapes and a cheese stick

D: chicken thigh with roasted Brussel sprouts

all vitamins and lots of water and hot decaf tea

DH has decided it is time to join me at the gym so, we will hit the gym later tonight. Yay!

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Good morning! It isn't frozen here like up north but it has been quite cool: 40's at night and barely in the 60's during the day. It does looks like it will warm up next week prior to DD's arrival which is good.

QOTD: I used to get takeout from MacDonalds or big fat subs from our local delis to eat in private. I was too embarrassed to overeat in public.

Accountability: No accountability - I have been eating like I'm on vacation but I'm not.

2 Years 10 months post-op (maintaining below goal for 2 years, 2 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese (or deli chicken)

D: Taco green peppers (unless we go out with visiting friends)

S: sweetened cottage cheese

Good morning menu friends. It's 32 and raining right now here near Chatham Illinois. We are back at the distribution center working as volunteer leaders for a week. And yes we are staying in our winterized camper and hauling water from the spigot. We are toasty so far with two space heaters and a furnace. If need be we can move to the duplex where our youngest is staying. He came up to help too since he's on winter layoff from his lawn care tech job. Accountability was spot on yesterday step and foodwise. Weight is bouncing around like crazy-- today it was 123.2. At least the general trend is closer to 120! Lily and I will do our best to walk today but not sure when or if the rain stops. I'm sure I'll get lots of steps in the warehouse though. Here's the food B 1/2c steel cut oats with protein and almond butter L leftover egg foo young patty no gravy D 4 oz brat burger S meat stick. Have a great day full of amazing choices friends!

You are doing so great with dropping your weight. Me, not so much. I've been a little down lately with DH's issues and being cooped up indoors. Not a good excuse. But you are inspiring!

Thanks,Liz! It's tough work to stick with it when progress is so slow. But since I'm not comfortable at this weight,I have no choice but to keep on working at it. The challenge this week will be preparing and setting out snacks for morning and afternoon breaks and not eating any. I'll just drink plenty of coffee instead. I've got this!
