Question about Vitron-C (Iron)
Ditto
Soon after surgery I started taking One A Day Women's 50+ Healthy Advantage multi-vitamin because it doesn't contain iron.
You cannot take iron and calcium together and since I've been unable to find calcium-free multi-vitamins, I take one that is iron-free and then take my iron at a different time of day.
I take this, but check with your surgeon first about this as an option. I take it with some orange juice in the AM and my iron levels have done well. Let me know if you start taking this with surgeon's ok as there are some rules for taking this and iron in general I can share with you I do.

Hi Lindy, I am 2-years out and all of my numbers seemed to have been doing well. I was able to give blood again. However, I gave blood in Sept '18 and my iron, hemoglobin and thyroid #'s plummeted! I've since been working on getting them back. I was hypo-thyroid pre-surgery and my #'s were constant (a normal for me). I am 52 years old and also learned I am in menopause (how-wonderful!). All 4-things counter intuitive.
My doc said my thyroid had to be stabilized before my iron/hemoglobin would. My thyroid has come back to what it needs to but the other 2 have not. I've been taking the iron (glucanate) with vit C some colace or other help for that part...no movements and the #'s do not increase. I've added the greens-Naked drink to my daily ritual as the kale and other vegies in it have good sources of iron. Sayin that my intake of iron is 72 grams /per day. I quit the iron because I am tired of having 1 BM a week-not fun! I am open to any advise or thoughts as well. I would also like to hear what others are taking for their daily vitamins. I take the Journey Bariatric 1,2,3 chewables twice a day. (https://shop.bariatriceating.com/Journey-Multi-Berry-Tabs.ht ml) they worked for the first year and a half.I think they still do as my other numbers are all good.
My hw was 249 cw 155 and VERY HAPPY!

LindyLin,
I am a 12 year post-op RNY patient. I take Feosol Bifera, one tab once daily. Its over the counter and is only sold at specific stores. I get mine at Walgreens. It's pretty expensive on Amazon right now because the manufacture had problems with production for several months. It's typically $23 or so at Walgreens for a 30 day supply. Sometimes you can get it for buy one get one at 50% off.
Best part about Bifera, I don't taste it an hour later. It's compound is well absorbed, so no icky burps later.
I started taking it about 10 years ago when kept coming up low on my iron. I talked to a pharmacist and she recommend this supplement. It works. I no longer have low iron levels.
Hope this helps.
