What's on your menu today (PHOTO FRIDAY) RNYers?
on 1/25/19 2:05 am - GTA, Ontario, Canada
Hey all my WLS friends, Happy Friday - its Photo Friday post what ever you feel like today!
Whatcha all up to this weekend? We have plans to visit with my husbands big extended family (cousins, aunts, uncles) on Saturday night, should be a blast and I love this family, they are a lot of fun.
Accountability: I had a crazy busy day at work, skipped breakfast, ate lunch and got home with a migraine so took some meds and went to bed. Not a good eating or liquids day.
QOTD: Tell us something that really annoys you. I have two things. One is spitting. I find it to be one of the most disgusting things ever. I hate having to dodge a huge pile of spit while walking on the sidewalk, ugh, makes me shudder! My second thing is people who are physically 100% fine and they smash their hands on the handicap button to open the doors to go into a building. I work at a hospital and I see this all the time with staff who for example go out for a smoke and when they reenter the building they use the handicap entrance and literally "Smash" the button for the doors to open. Hey jerks, both your arms & legs work fine, use the regular doors and save the handicap doors for those who truly need it. Makes my blood boil.

My PF pics are of this new "bug" protein I found while shopping this week. I got such a kick out of it since I am trying to say away from Whey protein to see if that is affecting my migraines. Anyone had cricket chips or cricket protein powder? Hey it might be the next big thing!

10+ years post op, living & loving life!
Morning all! I'm working from home today so my day is more flexible. Even got to snuggle in bed with DW & the kitties for an extra hour, so I'm in a slightly better frame of mind this morning. Having my first cup of coffee but going to be very cautious about more. My tummy just keeps cycling between accepting it and wanting to get rid of it...
QOTD: One of my major issues is with people who don't follow the rules when commuting. For instance, on the escalators there are clear instructions to stand on the RIGHT and leave the left open for people who are walking, or as in the case with many of us, RUNNING for the train. Also even though it is clearly posted, they take big bags and strollers on the escalators so that no one can pass. AND the worst are the people who insist on taking up more than one seat...either it is men who have to spread their legs out wide (I often have very crude thoughts about their anatomy on that one!) OR they otherwise sprawl over the whole seat like it's their personal lounge chair OR they put their muddy shoes up on another seat like they live in a barn! ARGH!!! Commuting is hard enough and long enough and crowded enough without people being LOUD, RUDE and not following the rules. Oh, and the things people loudly talk about on their cell phones like they are having a private conversation...folks, I just don't want to know!
Pics: First, me this morning, COLD and bleary eyed!
Second, after almost 5 years, I got a new telework laptop because my old one wasn't fixable. Much nicer, faster and no broken keys to mysteriously start typing in the middle of an important letter!
And third, my new desk chair, a balance ball on wheels (ignore all of the mess that seems to settle in my office!). Very comfortable and this version has a small back rest and wheels making it much more user friendly.
Menu: It's a new day and I'm renewing my efforts to focus on dense protein and non-caffeinated drinks, particularly water!
Breakfast: coffee, ham, HB egg
S: turkey breast
L: TJ's chicken sausages, baby carrots
S: Chomps, apple
D: not sure since it will probably be late
Exercise: my hip is achy but I'd like to do a gentle walk in the neighborhood

Aaaaa! I'm having flashback rage to the Metro escalators and am now enraged on your behalf! Seriously, people who stand on the left are THE. WORST.
(I imagine I will be saying "people who ___________ are THE. WORST." multiple times on today's post)

That is a very interesting chair. Does it work your core while you are sitting?
Intetesting term teleworking. I heard you saying it before and I thought is it a Janet thing or east coast thing? Because here on the west coast we say telecommuting. So a couple of days ago DD who studies in DC and is interning with a non profit mentioned she would be teleworking on Fridays. It cracked me up and it reminded me of you. I asked her if it's a DC thing, she said she didn't know, her boss said she would telework on Fri so she picked up the terminology.
SO, is it a DC saying or an East coast saying?

Good question. All of our agency (and the OPM/other govt agencies) guidelines refer to it at teleworking, although I've heard the term telecommuting. It may be an east coast thing.
As for the chair, yes it works your abs/core just like using any balance ball to sit on. What I like about this one is that it does have a back if you need it (not really supposed to for the workout) and with the frame and rollers I find it more stable and I don't feel as off balance. Very comfortable and not that expensive. I got mine for $45 on a GroupOn sale but Amazon has them for about the same price.

Oh and Daisy...I hope the treats work for you, but I hate to say that their claim to be "Nature's perfect superfood" just doesn't convince me!

TGIF Menu Friends,
So happy it is Friday, the end of the marking period and looking like an easy day at school - Social Studies test and a math test! This week the children had some unusually mean behaviors which has prompted us to have a schoolwide kindness week. I really worry about this generation of children, growing up with social media, parents that don't monitor their social media and the consequences of it. Breaks my heart to hear 5th graders say they want to kill themselves because of it. As I said, it's been a week.
QOTD: I can't stand to hear someone chew. I.just.can't.
TSS: 1 year and 1 month weight 159 pounds
B: overnight oats - 1/4 C of oatmeal, Greek yogurt, Fairlife milk, and 1 tsp local honey
water-water-water
L: the remainder of the Chipotle salad kit with chicken
water-water-water
D: I think we are going out
120+ water (I did it yesterday!) and all vitamins
Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!
Pictures are from an 'end of the year' collage I made - various stages of weight loss and my cute little fur face Chico who I still cry for every day.

That pic with the wings.
I know how you feel about Chico. I got "pushed" into getting another dog because of the kids but my heart still cries for our Gemma.
