What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Thank you, Chris. I got an appt for next week so I will know more about the process (if he is covered and all of that) after that. I am frustrated with myself because I feel like I have everything else DOWN but lately I can't get a grip on this aspect of it. I don't feel in control at those moments and that is scary for me. I appreciate you "listening".
Hi Daisy and menu friends! Happy Friday Eve indeed. I woke up today with that funny thick feeling in my throat like a cold is impending. Sigh...I knew it would happen sooner or later. Truthfully, I have not been sick much since surgery five years ago, at ALL, but the kids are another story. The three of them are like petrie dishes! One of them has a cold almost every weekend. We tell them to wash their hands, but I swear, half the time I think they run the water for 5 seconds and then turn it off. Ugh.
QOTD: you likely know that I am an extrovert to the max. In my Meyers-Briggs I am always held up in front of the team as the highest E there is. I really don't need downtime for myself to recharge. I love love love people. I can talk to a wall. Small talk comes easy to me. I don't know why I am the way I am, but this is me, I suppose. For better or worse, it's highly unlikely that my personality will completely change lol. Unfortunately, my BF is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE. He pretty much doesn't like people and struggles with small talk and thinks we stay way too long at all social events. Sigh...
B: 3 oz Boars Head Ever Roast chicken and 2 oz cheddar
L: 5 oz tuna salad concoction (includes kalamata olives, red onion, artichokes, green olives, salt, pepper, olive oil - no mayo)
D: Air fryer chicken wings, with fries for my BF. I just go to town on the wings!
E: Boxing
Have a wonderful day, everyone!
Hi Emily- tell me about your air fryer wings? I have yet to try air fryer wings and am interested, I would think they are tender/moist? Any favorite recipes?

They are SOOO good. I buy the big economy pack and then annoyingly, I have to cut off the wing tip and then cut the drummette part from the flat. I am too cheap to buy them at the meat counter already clipped. With a lot of trial and error, I have realized there is some cartiledge that divides those two sections - do NOT try to cut through bone lol.
I simply open the air fryer, spray a bit of Pam, and dump the wings in. The recipe that works best for me is 18 minutes at 380, shaking them every 5 or 7 minutes, or even using tongs and moving them around. Then do 10 minutes at 400, shaking once. Check if they are crispy enough...if not, do another 5 or 10 minutes. Until they're done to your liking.
I use the jarred wing sauce. "True" wing sauce is like a stick of butter and a cup of Frank's Red Hot but I use the Giant brand wing sauce. I have mild, spicy, Asian, and parmesan garlic. So I take tongs and remove the wings and throw them in a big glass bowl that has the sauce in it, to coat the wings. They are crispy, tender, and delicious. I love wings but they are always deep fried at restaurants (not a great option) and Kris doesn't love having to flip 20 tiny wings on the grill for 30 minutes. So this means I get my wings every week or two! I make fries for Kris but I like my entire meal to be crispy wings!
Thank you, I am going to try this weekend, I will look for the economy pack as well, I always balk at the high cost of wings that are already separated!
