What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Good morning, everybody. Up early today because I have a finance committee meeting for a charitable Board that I serve on. We had a great time touring the Blackhawks practice facility on Tuesday. We skated a few laps around the rink, got pictures with the ice girls (tried to look happy but not too happy while Marilyn was taking those) , and then went on a tour of the locker room and gym areas. A four or five year old girl lapped me about ten times while I was skating - she was a fantastic little skater in her tiny hockey gloves.
When we were touring the locker room area, the team chef was there and we talked to him a little bit. He said that the team eats super healthy. Not surprising given the amount of money that these players have at stake to maximize performance. We even saw the teams collection of condiments - lots of mustards and no mayo, thankfully
The gym area was huge. Not a ton of weights in there, they said that the players now work mainly on agility and quickness because the game has gotten so fast. And I'm sure they skate so much that they don't need much more cardio. Every year I hear someone sitting in seats behind me asking if it wouldn't be better to avoid substitution and have the best five players play the entire game. Um, no.
The Ham, pepper and cheddar Sous Vide egg bites were a success - I recommend them if you like the other egg bites.
QOTD: Good question. I am definitely an introvert. My job is client facing and I have sales goals, so I have to interact with people. I do it for stretches of time but it drains me and I need alone time to recharge.
Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: Ham
Snack: Light and fit
Dinner: Meatballs
Have a great day, all.

It is amazing how sports have changed, Training camp used to be where the players would get into shape. I see many retired players around Montreal , it is amazing to see that some of them put on quite a bit of weight when they are done playing. Sounds like a great tour! I still play hockey, am too competitive for my age, but found a good group to play with this year and am enjoying it!

hi all
I rushed to get in to the office this morning for a 7:30 meeting only to find it was 8 and i might get to cancel it. Accountability has actually been good for me.
I didn't sleep again last night and so I've been up since 12:30 am which is a bummer.
QOTD: I'm an introvert in social stranger situations but once I get to know you I'm very friendly and talkative. I've been working on this aspect fora while and 'small' talk does get easier the more you practice it. Iat work I call it building relationships
Food plan for today:
since I was up in the black of night- I've already had breakfast.
and coffee
need to have water now
protein pancakes with extra psyllium fiber
veggies with ground turkey taco meat
veggies with a salmon packet
not sure what else
gym after work!!!
I am always wanting to try the latte with almond milk...
January I've been in a car twilight zone.... Got it back with new engine after over a month last Thursday but had to drive immediately to dealer because power brakes were failing...and there was a recall...Got it back Tuesday night. Spent yesterday returning the car I was borrowing to my niece... the ride home involved 2 Uber's 2 trains, walking through Manhattan and took 4 hours. It was a long day but I was grateful I had a car in all this.
WOTD: I always say I am a people person, so I guess that makes me an extrovert.
I have a breakfast meeting this morning
B: pre-meeting: Fairlife latte, eggs
B: at meeting: we will see. I am sure some carb.
L: tuna and salad
D: meat sauce, chickpea pasta, veggies
S: protein, yogurt
Ex: gym

good morning everyone!
I am not looking forward to the next few days...the weather forecast is predicting below zero temps for at least the next 5 days, tonight it's supposed to get down to -27 with windchill...and more snow to come too...that means we have to be outside to SHOVEL the snow in these insane cold temps. I seriously wish my family would all just decide to move to a warmer climate. I would go in a heartbeat if only they would come along LOL...I just can't leave my siblings, they are really my best friends, and I know my sister will never leave IL. *Sigh*
QOTD: I am definitely an introvert. I've always been shy around new people and I feel uncomfortable amongst groups of strangers...I feel like since I've lost weight, I am definitely more confident around people though, and I don't feel as self conscious.
When I was in my 20's I loved doing Karaoke (of course having a few drinks first helped) and I think that helped me overcome some of my "public speaking" fears...I used to get nervous but I don't anymore.
I do over analyze everything and I know that is what exacerbates my social anxiety. I think I am getting better though.
I enjoy my alone time immensely and I get super cranky when I don't get to have it...I like that DH works opposite shifts so we have 3 nights a week together, 1 full day (Saturday) and half of Sunday together but otherwise we don't see each other much during the week. I think if we both worked the same hours and we were always home together, it would probably cause a lot more strain on us both. this way we just enjoy our time together and we also get our own time to do what we want without worrying we're ignoring each other.
B: scrambled egg w/crumbled sausage, american cheese, green peppers and onions, coffee w/half vanilla PP & Pumpkin spice extract
L: fajita chicken stuffed pepper
S: string cheese & L&F greek yogurt
D: salmon & mixed veggies
Happy Thursday!

I?ve noticed the pumpkin pie extract in your coffee and been meaning to ask, where did you get it? Is it in the same place as the vanilla or rum extracts?

yes! it's in the grocery store baking aisle...there are tons of different extracts. I also use a couple drops of peppermint extract with chocolate PP in coffee for a peppermint mocha!
I haven't looked anywhere besides Walmart but I am sure there are way more flavored extracts out there that you could experiment with...coconut, almond, whatever....I have a coffee extract too but I kind of figure that's overkill LOL...I really just got that one for when I was early post op and wasn't cleared for caffeine yet but liked to have a little coffee flavor in my shakes
