What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?

Good morning menu friends! Lily and I just got back from our 4 miles and it sure was windy. It must be right about 32 because wet sidewalks are beginning to freeze and they're predicting colder temps as the day goes on so I'm glad we walked when we did. If sidewalks are frozen later I'll do at least another mile on the dreadmill. QOTD fall is my favorite season as I love campfires in the cooler weather and the beautiful fall colors. Accountability was good step and foodwise yesterday and weight today was 124.4. Did better on liquids110 ounces and need to keep that up today too. Heres the food plan B1/2c steel cut oats with protein and cashew butter L 3/4c french onion soup with 1 string cheeseD 4 oz baked salmon S 4 oz pork rinds. Off to start coffee now. Have a great day full of smart choices everyone!

Good morning.

Holding at goal range, but have to be diligent because I'm on vacation next week. I put a few pounds on during my last one and it's me a month to get it off. So I have to be very careful.

Accountability has been good, except I ate 2 cookies my wife baked yesterday (so over the last two weeks good, but not yesterday). Was stupid, but moving on.

QOTD - I love fall and winter. Fall it's the color changes and cool air. Winter it's the snow and snowshoeing. I was the only one cheering on the snowstorm last week. Sadly we got the super cold along with it and I only made it out once.

PWO - yogurt and 4 blackberries

B - 2 hard boiled eggs (minus one yolk) and a sausage link

L - 3.5 oz TJ chicken/lime/chili precooked; small salad

S - Cheese; nuts; small apple

D - Small salad, chicken burger

S - Working out tonight, so I might have a yogurt when I get home. It's a second session for the day - I do Group Fight on Wednesdays when I can (they only offer it once a week and since I can't know if I can get out of work on time - I do my normal routine on Wed morns).

HW 510 / SW 424/ GW 175 (stretch goal to get 10 under) / CW 160 (I'm near the charts ideal weight - wonder if I can stay here)

Hi from Florida. It will be 80 today, but then cooling back into the mid sixties for a while. Sorry for those who hate dealing with snow.

QOTD: I guess you are winter and I am summer! I think we even wear colors that way! I love the beauty of snow and winter (I'm missing that), but give me sun, warmth, the beach and water!!!!

Accountability: Good until the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep. Damn pumpkin cookies.

2 Years 10 months post-op (maintaining below goal for 2 years, 2 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: eggs, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese (or burger sans bun at the pool)

D: Instant Pot Mississippi pot roast (leftover - it was fantastic - see below)

S: sweetened cottage cheese

Mississippi Pot Roast: This is the recipe I used - https://www.mom4real.com/easy-instant-pot-mississippi-pot-ro ast-recipe/. Additional notes based on the results: The only thing I added was 20 pre-peeled baby carrots. There are many recipes out there out there but they are all variations on this. The originals are in a crock pot. It was fantastic! It was a bit too salty so I need to adjust the ingredients some to reduce that. Other than that, I am going to eliminate the steamer basket (no need) and put the entire bag of carrots in (there was room and they were great). Things I was unsure of but worked out: I shredded both the beef and the peppers and put all of it back in the juice. The peppers are not too spicy btw. I served it with a slotted spoon (so there wasn't too much sauce on the plate) over mashed potatoes for DH and SIL and sans potatoes for me. I might use riced or mashed cauliflower for me next time though.

Hi Daisy and everyone! Daisy, I am impressed you didn't give into temptation! It's funny, that wouldn't tempt me as much as if someone brought in pizza or chips and guacamole...I guess I am not addicted to sugar, just to savory!

QOTD: Depends where I live. In Michigan, I used to LOVE summer. Warmth, sunny, light outside late. But here in DC, it's so humid and just ugh. I think I would have to say Spring. Spring makes me feel optimistic for some reason.

I have a good food plan today. I am just stuck at my current weight and so clearly I am eating maintenance calories. The scale doesn't go up or down. My new scale did arrive yesterday and I plan to open it up tomorrow and use it for the first time on Monday!

B: two hard-boiled eggs mashed with 3/4 cup cottage cheese and a liberal amount of Everything But the Bagel spice - yum! After my coffee with 3 tbsp half and half and salted caramel sugar-free syrup (haphazardly unalphabetized with my other syrups on the counter Sheila! LOL!) [see yesterday's menu thread for context]

L: Leftover grilled BBQ chicken breast in a low carb wrap with mozzarella cheese. These breasts are from a super morbidly obese chicken, I am convinced. They are GIGANTIC. I couldn't even eat 3 oz last night - chicken breast is just so dense for my pouch.

D: Leftover grilled chicken breast that I will warm in fajita seasoning and onion and pepper. I will serve it over chips for my BF, with melted cheese. I may have a few chips but I will also have sour cream and lots of salsa (the non-chunky kind because chunky tomatoes ugh).

E: 1.5 cardio/toning class tonight. My gym is CLOSING in a week, and I am depressed.

Have a great day, everyone!

I'm the same way with chicken,Em! I tend to eat boneless skinless thighs as they're a bit more moist but often I can't eat all of one thigh. Why is that not true with carbs? Those I could eat a ton of!

I normally do thighs as well! Much easier to digest.

I know...I have no idea why I can eat 100 ounces of popcorn and only 3 ounces of chicken breast. Ugh.

Though my downfall tends to be sweets, all of my children who have also struggled with their weight are called by savory foods.

Good morning and Happy Hump day~ It's in the 30's here this morning, so pretty cold for us but at least it's clear. It should warm up to the high 60's later and that is the forecast for the rest of the week too. Just plugging along here, trying to stay focused on what I can control and not get overwhelmed by anything I can't...it's hard, but I'm doing okay. My diet is spot on, I did skip the gym yesterday but took the dogs for a long walk when I got home. I had protein pancakes again last night but I was out of vanilla so I added some SF butter toffee syrup to the batter. OMG I've been dreaming about them ever since. I want to pick up some Walden farms pancake syrup on my way home tonight and will probably have them again tonight. The funny thing is I never even liked or ate pancakes before surgery!

QOTD - I love New England fall the best, but I don't live there anymore. In CA, it's all about summer which is basically March-November. It's when you can go anywhere and do anything and it almost never rains. It's a dry heat here plus I'm on the coast so not too hot and never a sweaty heat. I hate being cold and although I do love the smell of snow - you can have it all, Daisy!

Accountability - Angel status

2 years, 2 months out - 165.0 - yay!

b- coffee x 3, L&F greek yogurt

l-tuna w/SG balsamic, celery sticks, persian cucumber

d-protein pancake w/WF syrup

es- L&F greek yogurt

v/l - multi and calcium x 2, iron chew, b12 sub, +/-150 ounces

e-gym - cardio/floor and ball work

Have a great day!
