She had disability insurance through her former employer and she's been off work since August. While she and the doctor are hoping that she can go back to work, I frankly don't see it being possible. Her cognitive skills just aren't at a point where she could keep a job.

Is DW on an antidepressant? My DH probably never would have taken one (or needed it) prior to Alzheimer?s but he has been on Lexapro for about two years and it helped a lot.
And as the others have said, the most important thing is to take care of yourself (that's the first step in helping DW).

Thanks Liz! DW has been on antidepressants for years and since her diagnosis, her dosages have been significantly increased and they've added additional meds. The problem is that it's almost impossible to tell whether she isn't cognitively functioning because of her impaired brain function (scar tissue) or is she so depressed that she is out of touch.
As for taking care of myself, I feel like I'm slipping.

Maybe you can seek a support group like the ones go to? It does help and I have made some good friends who I enjoy seeing and we commiserate with each other which makes it not so lonely. In my support groups at home and here in Florida, the afflicted partners are suffering from a variety of dementias, some diagnosed and some not. I found the one here in Florida via Alz.Org, but again, not all the partners have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Some have other dementias, and some don't have a specific diagnosis (similar to your DW).

Good morning Daisy and menu crew, another stormy day here as well, much warmer and am hearing a possibility that we could get freezing rain mixed with snow. I work 1.5 miles from home so no worries. I need to borrow a roof rake to get the snow off my garage roof, my roof levels are at different heights and the snow has drifted on the garage, I am worried it will be too heavy if we get rain or if it begins to melt...
Accountability - yesterday I mentioned fasting, I only ate between 10 am - 6 pm on Mon and Tues and the scale moved. I am pretty happy, it is amazing when we use our tool, I have been diligent on weighing, choosing the right things and most importantly not grazing. I am also walking at my break times and lunch.
QOTD - I love the fall, we live near a Beautiful lake and Mountains and the fall in the Northeast is a wonderful thing. Our Fall weather is moving deeper into Late October , early November now and I like it.
