Good Tuesday morning everyone~ I?m happy to be at work today, I need a distraction from worrying about things I have no control over...otherwise I had a good long weekend. The key is to stay busy and productive, so that is what I?ve done and will continue to do. It positively allowed me to take back control of my eating 100% - now that I CAN control and I had a great weekend food wise. I made the most incredible protein pancakes yesterday and the day before ? I have perfected my recipe and even ate at the kitchen counter it was too good to bother sitting down!

QOTD - I totally hoard food. When people say I have to go shopping cuz there is nothing to eat in the house I don't get it - its inconceivable to me! There is only 2 of us and you would think we had a HUGE family with how full our pantry and fridge always are. I don't know why I do this, I end up throwing a lot food out which really bothers me. I feel the need to have every ingredient for every dish I could possibly want to make on hand at all times. Why is that? I don't sneak or hide food though, I don't feel that need.

I saw a mix in Target for protein pancakes and almost got them but wasn't sure if I'd like them. What do you top them with?

I haven't tried the commercial mixes as they are so easy to make (protein powder, egg and baking powder) I make a pretty sweet batter and top them with a little brown butter from the pan (OMG), sometimes I will make a sweet butter (w/spenda and cinnamon) or yogurt, berries, peanut butter would be good too. All the thick sugar free syrups I can find have sugar alcohols - and while they taste really good, they don't agree with me.

Sugar alcohols do quite the number on me too and their effects are long lasting. I never thought abouy sweet butter--sounds yummy!

Actually - Walden Farms Pancake syrup doesn't have any sugar alcohols, I will have to find/order some. I think Hilary likes it.

Love the Walden Farms! I also feel like I prefected the protein pancake. I found Quest all purpose baking mix at Grocery outlet for $19.99.( Its on Amazon for $39.99)

1 scoop of protein powder (1/2 c)

1 egg

1/2 tsp baking powder

cinnamon

vanilla

Add enough water for desired consistency.

cook on the grill and add Walden farms when done. 170 calories, 30 protein,1 carb, so delicious!!

That is my recipe exactly except I add a couple of Splenda packets and a dash of salt! I love the Quest all purpose. There are supposed to be a ton of recipes you can use it for, but I haven't tried any beside pancakes. Glad you like Walden farms I will have to find it now.

I use a tablespoon of real maple syrup and I have been fine. I can't have sugar alcohols either - totally messes me up!

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

hey everyone!
I am a little late this morning, I got sidetracked but I am here!

The impending ice/snow storm is making me a little nervous since I have a relatively long commute home (usually about 45 minutes in good weather/traffic) and I am not looking forward to it tonight since it's supposed to start around noon.
I have my labs tomorrow morning so I haven't been taking my vitamins for the last 2 days and it feels kind of weird like I am constantly forgetting something.

QOTD: I used to hoard and hide food a lot. DH and I were both MO and he would always eat all of something we had before I got to try it whenever it was in the pantry or cupboards so I started stashing it in drawers and hiding it in places so he wouldn't eat it all. now that we have both had RNY I haven't done that because I know he can't possibly eat it all lol. He actually sometimes still ends up finishing something before i get to try it but it doesn't bother me anymore because I know I don't need the extra's and he's probably just doing me a favor by getting rid of it!
We also kind of tell on ourselves whenever we have a snack off plan. I could care less if he decides to sneak a bite of cake or a cookie, because it's his own body and his own journey but I am proud of him for caring enough to tell on himself because he wants me to keep him in line haha.

B: coffee w/1/3 Pure protein shake (might have another later depending how the afternoon goes), 2 turkey bf sausage patties, 2 string cheese
L: turkey chili w/1/2 oz shredded cheese
S: greek L&F yogurt
D: DH is going to make little thin crust pizza's with low carb wraps tonight.
