Good morning Daisy and menu crew, still miserably cold here -8 with no wind, finally stopped blowing in the middle of the night. tonight I need to bring Ms Bethany for her grooming appointment and to get groceries.

Accountability was spot on and I have decided to try some fasting, not saving any snacks for after dinner and see if it helps to move the scale again. My accountability has been spot on since January 1 and I want to see more movement on the scale so time to change it up a little.

*** Edited to add QOTD - I do not sneak or hide food , I have had issues with grazing in the past but am overcoming that as I work on getting back to goal.

B - Scrambled eggs and Ham/cheese

L - Salami/Proni and cheese

S - cukes and ranch

D - Leftover ham and cauliflower bake

E - Not sure if I will make it to gym, will get in at least 10,000 steps.

Time since surgery - 4 years and 3 Months

207.8 this morning - 13.8 lbs to goal

Good morning Daisy and Menu friends! Still frigid here, but it's warming up a bit and supposed to be 45 tomorrow and 50 on Thursday (though back to the 30s on Friday).

Last night I got all suited up in my swimsuit, went out in the blustery night to the Y for Aqua Zumba, got IN THE POOL, and then the life guard told the two of us there that it had been cancelled . Supposedly there was a sign at the check in desk, but there was not! I'm not a confident enough swimmer to do laps or anything AND I had come in boots, not sneakers, so I couldn't even do a different work out. I headed home with the intention of doing something there, but when I tried to Chromecast a work out video it wouldn't work and (excuse coming) I decided it was a sign I wasn't meant to work out ...

QOTD: I definitely have the tendency to hide/sneak food. We all know this isn't the healthiest of behaviors but, it is what it is... I was really awful about it for a few months last year. And unlike you, Daze, I ATE THE FOOD. Cookies, chips, chocolate - I ate it. And it didn't make me sick (most of the time), which was the worst! I've ditched my stash and am getting back to healthy habits, but man, hoarding....

4 years, 11 months post-RNY

B: coffee with half and half, egg cups

S: cottage cheese

L: egg salad on a Fiber one wrap, string cheese

S: apple (I forgot my pumpkin seeds - sad face)

D: turkey sloppy joe

S: PB pretzels

We're having a mural painted at the library today and the artist is starting today - I am RIDICULOUSLY excited for this! The storytime room was named "The Peter Rabbit Storytime Room" by a donor, so the mural is Beatrix Potter in style and tells a Peter Rabbit story. It's going to be so sweet. Squeeee!

I would have been ticked about the class being cancelled. I hope you can make the next class.

Winter advisory this morning starting with ice and then were expected to get 3-6 inches of snow. We still will try to drive to Lincoln (about 30 minutes from Omaha) for the concert tonight so I'm hoping the plows are running through. I'm working from home until then, and then have the day off tomorrow (because I'm officially too old to go to metal concerts and then be fresh as a daisy for work the next day lol).

Qotd: not so much food hoarding to that extent, but I still have this "feed a family of 5, buy things on sale in bulk, don't waste any food" issue. It's just the two of us RNYers here!

breakfast: coffee, might scramble an egg later

snack: Greek L&F

lunch: tuna packet on a bed of spinach

dinner: out in Lincoln, will make protein-forward choice

Good Morning Daisy and Menu Family!

QOTD: I think I kind of sneak treats when my daughter is home because she is pretty observant of what I am eating and comments on it (even though she eats lots of sweets and other fattening foods). She has some Reeses mini candy bars in the cupboard and I was sneaking a couple of those every now and then and I decided instead of doing that I might as well eat an Atkin's peanut butter cup instead and account for it on MyFitnessPal. Also, I don't think I am totally honest on MyFitnessPal. If there is more than one entry for the same item, I will choose the one with the least calories to add to my list.

Accountability: I'm still eating too many calories and I need to cut back. Protein - 119, Calories - 1,260, Carbs - 163.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt, banana

L: 160 calorie meal, light & fit Greek yogurt

D: microwave meal, light & fit Greek yogurt

S: prosciutto & mozzarella stcks, light & fit Greek yogurt

Have a beautiful day everyone!

~ Karen

re: multiple entries for a food in databases - if there are lots of them, I knock out the lowest and the highest as those are sometimes way off base. I also knock out any that have 0's listed for the macronutients since it's possible the person was just guessing on the calories (that plus the fact that I track the macronutrients!). Then with whatever's remaining, I pick something that's about in the middle. My sister picks the highest calorie one, but I think picking something in the middle is probably fine. (I use sparkpeople - MFP may not have as many entries listed for the same food since I think it's a newer database, but then I don't know - I haven't used the one since I've been tracking in sparkpeople for several years - I like being able to run reports and include stuff from two or three (or more!) years ago, so I haven't switched over as I still want to be able to see my older stuff!)

Good morning,

Ive been up before 5 am. Fell asleep on the couch and when I woke up,it was too late to take my night pills, which helps me sleep.

Qotd I do hide and sneak food even though I live by myself. But I get a guilty conscience and admit to a friend what I did after eating guilty food.

Ate too much at support group, was miserable and wasn't going to get dessert when it was time. I got it and was going to save it and next I was eating it. Also had pretzel breadsticks at work even though I wasn't going to eat that either. I told myself yesterday, I would only eat snacks that are cottage cheese or yogurt at work but the pig brain squeal and I pleased it.

Coffee with cream from last night

B ham and cheese omelette and string cheese

L tuna, cottage cheese and peaches canned

D steak and green beans

Have a good day

Mornin'!

Bad weather headed here today, too - up to 7" of snow predicted. It's supposed to start later on this morning - around 11:00 or so. I should be fine going to the 9:30 yoga class I signed up for - but I also registered for a luncheon that goes from 11:30-1:00, so I might punt that if things start looking bad. Meanwhile, DH has decided to go to work - and he works 40 miles away. I've been trying to talk some sense into him, but it's going in one ear and out the other. I just hope he makes it home safely.

QOTD: I don't sneak food and don't think I ever have. But then, I've never been that into junk food (my mother is and was a health food nut, so we never had it around when I was growing up); my issue was mostly portion control. That said, I do seem to want to keep overly stocked in yogurt and berries. The yogurt thing is weird since I make my own (although I do keep some L&F and Carbmaster around for low-cal afternoon and evening snacks) - but I always seem to be stumbling across some new flavor or brand that I just have to try - and it usually sits in my fridge for a long time, since I always eat the homemade stuff or the light products. Luckily, commercial yogurt lasts a long time - at least a good month past its expiration date. As for berries, the first thing I scout out when I walk into a grocery store is the berry section - and if they're on sale, I stock up. Of course, berries don't have a long shelf-life, so I end up either freezing them or making compotes out of them (with SF Torani syrup and a little cinnamon & vanilla). But that's fine - it's great on my homemade yogurt! So basically I probably have 20 things of yogurt in the fridge at any given time - plus a couple Tupperwares of compotes, and a freezer full of berries...

accountability - again great. Weight down another small notch this morning

3 years 7 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt with blueberry/blackberry compote, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: if I go to the luncheon, either half a turkey wrap or a grilled fish taco. If at home, then homemade cottage cheese

AS: choice of light yogurt, protein pumpkin pie, or 2 T hummus with baby carrots

D: probably 1 C turkey chili, half a piece of cornbread

ES: same as AS

ex: yoga

Have you been to Alpine Valley for concerts? Is it a good facility? Summer seems very far in the future but we were thinking of checking it out this year. I think its near Lake Geneva?

yes - although it's been YEARS. As in probably 30 - so I can't remember much about it. I think we saw Sting there (I can't even remember!!). And yes - it's near Lake Geneva (East Troy, I believe). I don't hear about it much here in Madison because it's kind of a hike, but when I lived closer to the Milwaukee area several years ago, I remember people going there all the time for concerts. Not sure if it's because I lived closer then - or if it was more of a "thing" then. I'll check around and see if anyone's been there recently...
