on 1/15/19 1:50 am - GTA, Ontario, Canada
Hey everyone, happy Tuesday! I am feeling a bit better, I had an acupuncture appt yesterday and fingers crossed this is going to be helping me a lot in the future.
Accountability: I ate an extra Kind fruit & nut bar, otherwise I was on plan
QOTD: Do you have one of those bosses that say's yes to every task/committee/working group etc ? That is my Boss, she is a chronic over committer and guess who gets most of the work thrown at her, ME. UGH. Just yesterday I got two new committee's handed to me that I have to chair. If you are the Boss are you fair with your work distribution with your team or do you learn harder on the best workers?

Good Morning All,
Glad to hear the acupuncture is starting to give you relief Daisy.
I'm not feeling well. Started with a sore throat yesterday so I dug out the Tylenol cold and flu caplets. Does anyone take anything better for a sore throat? Any home remedies that are tried and true? I see a lot of hot tea with lemon and honey in my future today.
Accountability: I was horrible yesterday! Lots of BLTs. I must reign that in.
QOTD: My principal likes to get my school involved in all types of extra committee work. Then he expects us to all be overachievers and get the work done in the committee faster than any other committee in the county. Luckily, most of the committee work is volunteer so when he is on one of his rampages I go into my classroom and shut my door.
1 year and almost 1 month out - 161.5
B: going to try a scrambled egg with a bit of cottage cheese in a minute
MS: PP chocolate shake
L: 3 ounces deli turkey, 1-ounce provolone cheese, a little red onion, oregano and 1 TBSP of Paul Newmans light Italian dressing
AS: 2 ounces cheddar cheese and 1/2 of a Honeycrisp apple
D: more leftover Mexican vegetable soup with chicken
EDIT: over 100+ ounces of fluids and all vitamins
Tonight is support group but if I am not feeling a bit better I will be staying home, in my pajamas and warm house! I'm over being cold all of the time.
You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling too well, flu season has definitely hit! Hot tea with lemon and honey is what I would have suggested in addition on over the counter medication.
Get better soon!

Sorry to hear you are unwell! Its all over the radio and news here that the FLU is going to hit hard and be nasty in the coming weeks.
I swear by Tylenol Cold & Flu pills and NeoCitran. I also have a love hate relationship with anything Buckleys. Its 100% true that it tastes gross but works. I had bronchitis in November and only antibiotics and Buckley's cough drops helped. I am repulsed by DayQuil & Nyquil, they make me feel off due to the alcohol content, especially the Nyquil.
Feel better

I think there's some definite value in acupuncture! I use it for some muscle issues and find it helpful...and even if it's not the acupuncture itself but the half hour in the zero g heated massage chair with pretty images in front of me...it works!
Accountability - yesterday I didn't make my tacos so I will make them today!
QOTD - My group covers a lot of different areas so if there's a project we're on it. In terms of sharing out the work, it's so hard to not always go to the "usual suspects" but I try to balance the people I rely on with giving people the opportunity for stretch assignments and to build new skills. It makes more work for me (and sometimes for the usual suspects) but it's a good thing to keep in mind. No one ever gets a break if no one new learns those skills!
menu today is pretty much the same as what I planned for yesterday.
coffee with half and half x2, plus tea. The last couple of days really cold liquids have been annoying me so I'll be focused on decaf teas today. Warm is good!
b - 4 oz ever roast chicken, .6 oz provolone
l - L&f, plus I have my first Ostrim meat stick in case I need it
d - 4 oz taco meat, 1 oz cheddar
es -L&F -- I froze one last night but I think I froze it took long or maybe I should have taken it out of the container before freezing? I'm glad there was no video of me trying to chisel apart the solid lump of yogurt. It did help me to eat slowly though, lol Maybe I shouldn't freeze it quite so long. (Who knew this was complicated?)
Have a terrific Tuesday all!

Oh thank you! I had a few bad leaders when I first started out so I've made an effort to be the kind of leader I would want to work for. Some days I'm better at that than others!!

I freeze them for 1 1/2 hours. The outside will be frozen but still soft in the middle. I use a fork (kinda stabbing the crap out of it) to break up the icy parts really well and stir - it's an art or a science, lol. It thaws really fast if you go to far though.
