OK, this is gonna sound crazy but hear me out.....
I am 61/2 years postsurgery and I don't recommend not weighing. Hubby and I were traveling and I wasn't bothering to weigh plus we were eating out more than usual and I wasn't checking in here either. When I stepped on the scale I had gained over 10 pounds after maintaining for nearly 6 years. So far I've lost 6 pounds butit's been a fight. I'm still sitting 4 or 5 pounds above where I maintained so easily before. Please learn from my example! I intend to!
It's most likely that your weight redistributed. I looked really gaunt when I hit my low weight. Then without gaining anything, my hollows filled in. If I wasn't sporadically weighing I would have assumed I had gained. I haven't had RNY so I can't speak for your potential to continue to maintain.

I maintained easily until just after 2 years. Now it is MUCH harder. Any indiscretions make a difference and getting even a pound off is slowwwww.

Hi Bansinga,
It sounds like a fantastic job...to travel and experience the world is fantastic.
Whatever the scale number is, as long as you are managing to get good nutrition and all your vitamins, you're doing well.
It sounds like the scale is a source of stress and anxiety for you. Would it be helpful to you to have a talk with a counsellor about managing this?
Whatever the case, well done on your success to date and may you be content in yourself x
I agree with Erin T about the possible redistributing of weight. I ate all through Thanksgiving and Christmas too, and didn't gain anything. However, it eventually showed up on the scale in January when I was being good. It just took a few months to appear. The body will fluctuate depending on your monthly cycle, water retention, if you've pooped in the last day or two, night or day, or if it's sunny or raining outside. I used to get obsessive when I would lose 1/3 of a pound one day, and gain that weight back the next. So I don't weight myself daily anymore, but I do weigh myself weekly. That way I monitor myself overall, and not micromanage my weight. It's easy to regain without noticing so make sure you monitor yourself some way. If not by the scale, then try the tape measure, or a specific article of clothing. Whatever you prefer.
