What's on your Saturday menu, RNYers?
Hi weekenders. I've done my run and need to walk the dog in a few minutes.
I'm particularly sad/disappointed today because my son was rejected from four of his 5 high school pick. He's obviously disappointed too- so I'm trying to play the 'we'll make it work' card when I really think this sucks. I'm questioning every decision I've made for him since he was 2. We still have three charter school lotteries to hope for. The school he did get we are ok with the curriculum- it's a second location to his #1 pick. It's just far; but I love my job cause I have the flexibility to take him to school every day and show up when I need to at work. I will appeal to denials I do not understand.
Today I'll be looking for new earphones, and order a cake for a coworker getting promoted.
Qotd: I'd give up the internet for a week. But that's under the sheepish pretense that my phone would still have its data plan. No one calls me anyway-- so no worry there. I rarely use my iPad at home, or hubbys laptop. I work almost exclusively from my phone.

I had a long and stressful night. At about 3PM my Mom called and needed me to take her to the hospital. Rush hour traffic on Friday...loads of fun. It took me a little over a half an hour to get there, and about 40 minutes to get her to the hospital. It was a total zoo, they were not even accepting ambulances since they were so packed. But it turns out my friend was also at the hospital, and while my Mom was waiting he needed me to go get his insulin, I needed to stop by home to eat and take my ulcer medication. So another bumper to bumper stressful drive of about an hour.
My Mom has congestive heart failure, which has been really well controlled, so they thought that might be the issue. They tested her for flu and x-rayed, EKG'd and took blood. We finally got out of there about 9:30PM a total of almost 6 hours in the ER. The results she has a virus, not the flu. I got home a little after 10:30 and was totally wiped out. Needed to relax and was hoping for a good nights rest, but only about 5 hours. My friend is still at the hospital, return of the pancreatitis and severe constipation. I'm trying to get a hold of him today to see if he's better.
All of these emotions ran through me at the hospital. It is where my Dad died and he has been on my mind a lot lately. As much as my Mom drives me crazy, I can't contemplate losing her. So I need to do something today to get myself out of this funk I'm in. I did apply for another job yesterday, it is the one with the long commute. But with all of the stress my current job has been I feel like I really need a change.
The sun is out and I should go out and do something, but I don't really know what.
Have a great weekend everyone!

QOTD: phone for sure. I have to have internet!!
today I slept until 9:30- walked the pups, cleaned house a bit, and left about 12 to go to gym and run some errands. Now im doing some work at starbucks and having a nice coffee.
I moved an entire toilet down the stairs by myself I think my DH will be impressed. We had replaced the one upstairs and the old (new one) long story had been sitting there for a month or more. So I moved it. I still need to mop the bathroom when I get home.
So - I suck at building fires in our wood heater at home- SO I bought these fires starters to try to impress my DH when he gets home from work tonight. I want that fire roaring!
I did lifting and something called rip stick or whatever at the gym. I enjoyed it
Weather here is iffy so will be heading home soon!!
