My pic this week is of my fur-baby. She is 15 and the other day the city was doing some work on the tree out front and she came to get me from the other room to show me. She meowed at me and had me follow her to my bedroom.

How cute that she wanted to make sure you were aware of the workers! Cats are so smart.

Mornin' All!
Well I decided three days ago to take myself off all antacids (I have an arsenal of various ones that I've been popping like candy for the last couple of months) and stool softeners. A friend who deals with bloating (and is currently on the FODMAP diet) mentioned to me the other day that antacids can cause bloating. I checked some of mine - as well as the stool softeners - and noticed some of them have sodium in them, too. So I decided to give them up for a few days to see what happens. Ta da! Feeling MUCH better as of this morning. No more bloated feeling - and even my post-PS swelling (which I still get at five months out - although not as bad as it was the first couple of months) seems to have lessened. YAY!! I started taking 500 mg of magnesium in the morning and again in the evening to deal with both constipation and acid reflux (since magnesium is an ingredient in some antacids - and I don't think it causes bloating), which so far seems to be working OK - so maybe I can kick both antacids and the stool softeners to the curb and be done with this!!
I'm meeting with the porch contractor later this morning (still haven't decided if we'll go this route or not, but I have some questions I'd like to ask him) - then meeting a friend for afternoon tea. I didn't exercise at all yesterday, so I need to do some of that today, too.
QOTD: I haven't noticed a difference. Like Karen, I rarely have a problem falling asleep. I usually sleep 6-7 hours and then wake up and can't get back to sleep, even if it's 4:00 am. But...that's OK.
3 years 7 months out:
B: Earnest Eats protein oatmeal (I finally bought some, Karen!!), coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: probably cottage cheese again
AS: light yogurt or protein pumpkin pie
D: chicken breast with vegetables or a RealGood enchilada
I'm sure occasional use is fine - but I was taking a crap ton because the H2 blocker that my clinic prescribed wasn't doing much for me. I was esp taking a lot of Tums. I figured since we don't really absorb calcium carbonate (which is the main ingredient in Tums), it wouldn't really matter. But even though we may not absorb much into our bloodstream, evidently it can still do a number on your intestines (that wasn't the only antacid I was taking - I have a lot of different ones and was often taking two or three different kinds at once - but that's the one I was taking the most of, figuring it was "safe")
I am going to have to remember this! I've heard people say they still have some swelling even a year out 0.0 I don't know, I have a beach vacation planned for about 3 months post LBL and I hope I can wear a bikini for the first time literally ever lol
Anyways, glad to hear you are feeling better!
