Good morning and TGIF! So happy to be wrapping up this week with a short work day. I'm taking my car in for service and grocery shopping later. This weekend has got to include a pedi at some point, it's just not pretty! It will be raining all weekend (and for the foreseeable future) so roaring fires, crock pot chili and lots of football are on the agenda.

QOTD - I sleep the same really - I'm really fortunate to be a good sleeper. I usually get 8-10 hours, seriously. When things are bothering me I have a hard time staying asleep - this happened last night so I tossed a turned for a few hours and I'm really tired today. I have no clue how those of you that get only a few hours function.

Accountability - good

Happy Friday to everyone! Daisy, glad you are feeling better.

It is going to be a dry, mild weekend in the Northwest, so perfect for some outdoor activities. Some nice long walks at the very least.

Today I am picking up my friend and taking her to her post plastics surgeon appointment. Fingers crossed she gets her drains out today. Then we are meeting another friend for lunch at a restaurant near my house. It has both a sushi menu and a Thai menu and both are delicious. I am going to have my favorites, hamachi sashimi (I just can not do rice anymore) and this yummy Thai soup with beef short rib, veggies and a super flavorful and spicy broth. Heaven.

Not a lot of weekend plans. I am going shopping tomorrow morning with some girl friends I have a Sak's Off Fifth Ave gift card burning a hole in my pocket.

Accountability: Totally on point yesterday. Yippee!

QOTD: My sleep is worse since RNY, but not sure if it is tied to surgery. For me, it is more likely due to changes in my life. Sometimes I sleep fine, and other times I am up at 3:30 for the day. I hate it.

Your weekend sounds lovely, Maryann! I also cannot do rice, so I do miss sushi rolls. They are very hit or miss for me - one time I will have it and be fine, and the next time I will feel it sit like a brick in my stomach and have to projectile vomit. You would think I would never try a roll again if there is a 50/50 chance of throwing up but nope, I am an asshole. But your sashimi and soup sounds delicious...that is what I normally get too! Isn't it funny that even five years out, I always do the soup broth first, and then the chunky things and the sashimi. It's like it's been drilled into my head not to drink with or after meals! Ha. Funny that even when I fall off the wagon and eat things I have no business eating, I don't drink with or after meals...like, what makes that the sacred rule to never be broken??? Humans are funny sometimes...

If I eat sushi, it feels like the rice is growing like the Alien in my stomach, which is why I have switched to sashimi. But, yes, I too am an asshole and test sushi every now and then. Guess what happens? The Alien grows again. What was that definition of insanity again?

I love that Thai soup oh so much. I am thinking of checking to see if they will sell me quarts of the broth alone. It is incredible. I will drink it like coffee.

Happy Friday!! This week felt like it would never end. I have been doing well with food, but really need to up my water.

This is a book I picked up at the library. I am excited to read this weekend.

My husband and I from our night away at the beach last weekend. We had a wonderful time!

QOTD- I feel like the older I get, my sleeping issues are becoming worse. I fall asleep fine, but then wake up usually around 1:30 am every morning and lay there for a few hours. I am usually up for the day around 4:45.

Food plan for today-

2 eggs with 1/2 c. cottage cheese

1 can albacore tuna with onion, pickles and 1 Tbsp. SG poppyseed dressing

4 oz shredded chicken breast with salsa

1/2 c. cauli rice with 3 oz blackened chicken

Have a great day everyone!

The week from hell is pretty much over. I'm working from home today and it should be much less stressful. I had issues with my boss he and another manager and a sales person met with this customer and I was not invited, and then wants to hold me accountable for why I don't have an estimate for what this will cost to do what the customer wants. Since I was really busy I had handed it off to one of our new engineers. I talked to the customer and he says that he gave all the information I needed to the people who were out there. And my boss says what? It has been the busiest week I have had working here. I had multiple high priority jobs to complete and revision on jobs, so I've been pumping out the work. On Wednesday when all of this happened I was so angry I wanted to quit my job. It is not fair to be excluded from a meeting and then told you should have taken care of this. Things did not get better yesterday, I had several new crisis's to deal with. I need a new job! At one point my stomach hurt so bad I was almost doubled over, was it my ulcer responding to the stress? I'd have to say yes.

QOTD- Insomnia has been with me for years. Immediately post-op I was sleeping for 8-10 hours a night. Now as it was pre-op it takes me forever to fall asleep and I'm lucky if I get 4-5 hours of sleep a night. I do not use an alarm, it triggers my PTSD and I usually wake when I need to. I'm up by 5:30-6 and at work by 6:30-6:45. I am not a morning person, but have been forced by work to be. I use multiple things when I'm unable to sleep Formula 303, CBD oil, and as a last resort Lunesta. I absolutely love Lunesta I get 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

My accountability has not been good. There were these Walker Shortbread cookies and I couldn't resist. They are my favorite cookies and with all of the stress I used it as an excuse to eat them. I know it doesn't help, and only makes matters worse.

But it is Friday YAY! Have a great day everyone!
