What is on your menu today (PHOTO FRIDAY) RNYers?
I was told to expect swelling for sure for the first three months - and that it could last longer than that, but the worst of it should be over by then. And yes - I've also heard some people say they still swell at a year out. Yikes. I've been doing more cardio lately than I have in awhile, and I think that can make it worse, too.
Hello, menu friends!
Daisy, I am SO glad you're on the up and up. I hope tomorrow you are completely migraine-free and can go to the birthday party. Hey, didn't your boss leave for a new job? I never found out, do you like the new boss? Is he/she understanding of your migraines, I hope?
QOTD: I am not a great sleeper. I will fall asleep ok once I take a Benadryl, but then I am wide awake at like 4 or 5 am. I will have many nights of 6 hours of sleep and then a night of 8.5 (like I am trying to make up for it). I am sure I could attempt to do a sleep routine, not eat dinner so late, yada yada, but I haven't yet...
I am personally so glad it's the weekend. We are supposed to get like 1.8" of snow so of course the news is high drama. Our house is NFL obsessed so we will be glued to the TV for the championship games. No offense to any of you fans, but we desperately need the Rams to beat the Cowboys and the Eagles to beat the Saints (not likely but we're hoping) so that LA has a home game the following weekend, while we are in LA! We don't have plans other than football, hanging out, and I am making some high protein meals - including Chicken Tikka Masala in my Instant Pot!
B: 3 tbsp half and half in my coffee, 3 oz Boars Head Ever Roast chicken shaved thin, 1.5 oz humboldt fog cheese (so. good.)
L: 2 hard-boiled eggs mashed with cottage cheese and EBB spice. This sounds super unappealing, but it's all I got.
D: Ricotta bake. And all of the ricotta bake ingredients mixed up with noodles and baked into a "pie" for the family.
S: String cheese. These may no longer be safe to buy because I eat too many of them. Possibly mini peppers dipped into fat-free greek yogurt with ranch seasoning.
E: Nada. Gym is closed Friday nights. And I can't do tomorrow morning's cardio class due to getting my roots dyed YAY. I will go to toning class on Sunday and maybe even stay for a second class to make up for my laziness!
My pic isn't that good of a pic, BUT, it's really momentous for a few reasons. This pic would not have existed pre-WLS for a few reasons. 1. I wasn't in a relationship with my current BF, so I didn't have the amazing 3 stepkids I acquired through him. 2. I wasn't a bike rider at 350 lbs, and now we all have bikes and ride them all around our neighborhood. And 3. I actually taught Ethan (age 12, with special needs) to ride his bike over the last month and in this pic, I am RUNNING ALONGSIDE him (which I did for many miles, in total). So yeah, while this pic isn't great, what it represents really is!
Have a fab weekend, all!
Wow, what a great history behind that picture. I love it!
