What is on your menu today (PHOTO FRIDAY) RNYers?
on 1/11/19 2:03 am - GTA, Ontario, Canada
Hi everyone, Friday here we are, I so need this weekend. What are you all up to? We have a big bday party to go to on Saturday night for a friend, I am looking forward to going just hoping my head cooperates!
Thanks everyone for your care/support and well wishes as I deal with this damn migraine. I am feeling a bit better today, not 100% but better, so fingers crossed the worst is behind me!
Accountability: I ate less than I had planned and nothing off plan, I really concentrated on liquids and got at least 120oz in so that is good.
QOTD: How do you sleep post surgery? Same, better or worse? I am WAY worse. I have really bad insomnia now and pre surgery I could sleep like the dead, now I am lucky if I get 3-4 hours a night. Its brutal. I am working on it, I have started a whole "sleep routine" so far its going just okay.
Time since surgery: 5 yrs & 2 months
B: 4 cups of decaf coffee with vanilla PP used as creamer then can of tuna with balsamic dressing
L: Greek slouvaki chicken skewer and tossed salad - take out from work
S: Teriyaki beef jerky
D: salmon sashmini (asking hubby to take me out for Su****onight!)
S: activia yogurt & special K protein cereal
TOTALS: 955 calories, 117 protein, 33 carbs
V: patchMD patches are on (iron, multi, vitD & calcium) + oral B12
E: 5km hike with the dogs
Have an awesome weekend everyone, hope its fun, restful & relaxing!

Good morning Daisy! Happy Friday and glad you are heading in the right direction with your migraine! I hope you are completely better soon!
I have been in awe of some of you exercise multiple times a day junkies but after doing my second round of two classes in one night I am really really amazed. I did an aerial toning class followed by my balanced lotus class and I am not exaggerating when I say my muscles are still shaking this morning!
This weekend is more packing/purging. I think it gets easier now - the people pick up everything I'm donating this morning so now it's "pay to move this" or "trash/recycle". I also have a stretch session on Saturday night and balanced lotus plus my final bungee class on Sunday. Technically I'm signed up for another toning class on Saturday morning too but I'm a bit skeptical as I hobble around the house. I'd also like to get out to see If Beale Street Could Talk or the Spider-Man cartoon.
The classes yesterday did inspire me to add another goal for 2019 --- enough upper body strength to do a pull up!! That seems audacious and impossible enough that I might have to tie it to a reward of aome kind!
qotd - I have never been a good sleeper. Without some kind of assistance, I'm a 3-4 hour a night person. While I was healing from surgery, I was actually concerned by the sleeping 8-10 hours a night because it was eating into my effectiveness. I'm lucky in that I rarely have trouble falling asleep, I just have a short sleeping window. I am a big believer in the sleep routine, no blue light screens within an hour of bed, and I've started using the sleep stories on the Calm app when I'm wide awake after only and hour or 90 minutes.
My photo is from June - it's 6 months, 57 pounds and 2 chins ago -- me and some girlfriends with the divine David Tenant (the 10th Doctor Who). These same friends and I went to NYC a few years ago just to see him perform with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Brooklyn and it was amazing!
Almost 11 months out, 151.5 lbs.

He was so good in that; he's so good in everything. He's in the new Mary Queen of Scots movie, which I didn't know until I saw him -- almost unrecognizable!

Seems obvious (I haven't seen the movie), him being Scottish. Now that I know he is in it I'll make a point of going to see it.

I can see the effects of gravity on the loose skin for sure but the classes are so welcoming and so flexible, if you find the right gym, you might not feel self conscious.
