when I worked at the state library, we used to occasionally host meetings for library directors from around the state. Our city is known for lots of restaurants - esp various ethnic and innovative ones - for a city its size - but this group ALWAYS wanted to go to Olive Garden for lunch. We couldn't believe it. I guess because most of them were from small towns and rural areas where there were no Olive Gardens, but given all the great choices around here, OLIVE GARDEN???

LOL. Hoping that's the case here too. They just opened the OG in our area and DD having been out of the country hasn't been to it yet. My fear is that DS & DH are excited about it. I hope it doesn't get into our restaurants rotation. But I gave up a long time ago. I remember I shuddered when DD (around 3 years old) asked for Mac and cheese for the first time at a restaurant. I even told her that my grandma is shaking in her grave but it's one of those comfort foods that she loves.

My hubby HATES Olive Garden so I haven't been to one in at least 12 years (had a team lunch there at one time years ago). He says the wait is always long and the food is overpriced (he says small portions) fake italian food.

I refuse to eat at OG because a pound of pasta to feed the entire family costs about 89 cents, but $55 if we eat at OG ha ha. But the kids love the bread sticks and the iceberg lettuce salad so occasionally someone chooses it for their birthday meal out :)

It's def fake italian good.

It's along the lines of Chipotle for Mexican or Panda Express for Chinese.

I took my SIL (my brother's wife) when they were here to Cheesecake Factory. It was mostly for the cheesecake but her face when she saw on the menu that they give pasta and chicken on the same plate at the same time was priceless. She ordered it anyway to see how they do it and she still talks about it.

I agree with your DH. The only thing I really like there is the minestrone soup.

I've never been to an Olive Garden, and have no intention of ever doing so!

Good morning, everybody. I forgot to answer the QOTD yesterday, and the answer is I am so cold. It started when I began losing, though, not just after surgery. I have a grey car with black leather interior and about three weeks after surgery I had to run an errand. On an eighty degree day I went out to my car that had been sitting in the sun, got in without rolling down the windows and thought to myself "its nice and toasty in here." It was probably over 100. I'm ready for a white belt and move to Florida.

Also, I always used to sleep on top of the covers in gym shorts. When I was cleaning out my closet I found that I had a whole dresser drawer full of never worn pajama bottoms with the tags still on the I had got each Christmas. Now I'm under the covers in pajamas.

QOTD 1: I have always loathed mayonnaise. I could make myself gag just thinking about it. I had heard that some people's tastes change after surgery I was afraid that I would wake up a mayonnaise eater. I didn't.

QOTD 2: No qualms about wearing a hat. But my hair is very short. Right now I am wearing either a blue or black coat so pretty much everything matches. There is a shearling coat in the Orvis catalogue that I want to get when I am at goal weight. Next year. The hats and gloves do not match each other though.

Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese

Snack: Protein bar

Lunch: Ham and cheese

snack: Jerky

Dinner: Chicken

Have a great day, all.

I'm there with you. I hate mayo with a passion. If there is even a drop of mayo I gag.
