Living with the bypass

Todo dia eu acordo e me arrependo da cirurgia. O mesmo que eu traz uma tristeza e vontade de ouvir é alguém que vive os mesmos sentimentos depois de 9 meses após uma cirurgia. Não pode ser mais que o arrependimento do comprador pelo tempo. Uma pessoa de uma oitenta anos fez um gastric bypass cirurgy? O deslocamento representa nossa expectativa de vida?

Cris, you've mentioned several times that you are anxious and concerned about complications that you may have --are you bringing this up with your medical team? Have you considered looking into some therapy to help you deal with the anxiety you are feeling? Many people post surgery start/continue therapy because the surgery is only on our physical systems..the hard work is in our brains.

I do have a question about your last question -- I'm not sure what type of deviation you're talking about -- deviation from your program guidelines? an additional surgery? Can you clarify what you mean?

I'm sorry you are still so conflicted this far out but I'm hopeful that you can find the support you need!

Thank you for your words. I'm very grateful. I'm so anxious and worried. I do not know old people with NRY ... You know? The type of bypass is bypass surgery (RNY). I'm in therapy. best regards

Yes, there are many people of the older generation that have had RNY and lived a long life. On these boards alone, there are people in all decades -- some people who had their surgeries a long time ago, some that have had them relatively recently.

I don't have any science to offer you but anecdotally I don't see a correlation between RNY and short life spans...but we know there is a lot of data around obesity and health issues.

It's good that you're working with a therapist and maybe you can talk with them about how to focus on the health issue you will be avoiding vs focusing on the possible complications that may occur? Just a thought.

Please pass on that I am "old"...61...had open RNY at 44...and am healthier than I ever was at 40...

Oh, I was hoping someone would chime in with details like that (and 61 is not old!!). I think 60 is the new 40:-)

Hey Chris, I am very sorry you have so much regret regarding the surgery, but I am glad to hear you are in therapy for it. Now I don't speak Portuguese, so I couldn't really make out exactly what your concerns are, would you mind reposting exactly what your concerns are in English?

I am 64 had the VSG 8 years ago and am living the best life I ever lived.

I don't know exactly what your post says but I'm happy to let you know that I was sleeved at age 60 and revised to RNY at age 67. I'm now 70 and don't think I ever would have made it here without these life saving surgeries! The best decisions ever!
