What is on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?

Jen, keep on sorting, purging and donating! When we moved 1.5 years ago, I took a seriously critical eye to just about everything, and donated sooooo many things. I feel like we still moved a **** ton of stuff, but way less than we would have. It felt so good to only keep things we love/need/use. Even just last night, I took four perfectly good coats out of the front hall that we just don't wear! Someone else will enjoy them :)

Side note - I saw a special on the Today Show about the popularity of that Netflix show, Tidying Up, where that adorable woman from Japan helps people go through their belonging and only keep things that "spark joy". And they were showing all these tweets from people who are purging their closets. And one guy tweeted "Apparently next week will be the best time ever to go shopping at Goodwill since everyone is tidying up!". So true. You hear that, SuperShopper Hilary? ;)

I am having the most trouble with books...I've done two passes through all my books and I have 6 boxes to donate...but I know I can get rid of more, especially from my cookbook collection! I mean do I really need every Cooking Light Annual Cookbook since 1996 AND the complete cooking light cookbook? I do have a lot of cookbooks from my travels that I will keep though - they "bring me joy", lol.

I am being ruthless on the clothes; I realized I was holding on to some of my older, large size clothes for silly reasons (it was the only Dr Who shirt I found in 3XL...which is not a good reason). I let myself keep 2 of my favorite t-shirts, for nightgowns, but that's it.

I love books though I read mostly on kindle for convenience and price. But these days I just google recipes! You probably don't need 23 years of Cooking Light cookbooks lol. But I know it can be hard to let go of our stuff!

I would hold on to Dr Who's shirt and use it as night shirt. Fun fact: my ring tone for when DH calls me is Dr Who's intro music!

I did end up keeping that as one of my two -- it's 9, 10, 11, and 12 walking across the street ala the iconic Beatles photo. I wore it when I met David Tennant because it's the best!

Have you watched any of the new season? I have not had a chance yet but I have them all recorded.

No, haven't seen the new Dr yet, but it's recording for us too. I was kinda turned off by the story lines when Capaldi was Dr who, not because I didn't like him but the stories were getting too out there for me. I'm hoping with #13 they rein it in.

I purged thousands of books when I last moved. I only have perhaps 10 boxes of them left. I hated getting rid of those. I hate moving, period!

This is going to be my last move for a while! How is your house hunt going?
