What is on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?

Hi everyone, its mid week and only 2 days to go until the weekend.
How is everyone? I am still battling a nasty migraine. I think I need to take myself to Emerg and get IV fluids and an IV pain med. This migraine has made me so sensitive to things that are totally normal. For example I eat balsamic dressing everyday on my tuna and yesterday as soon as I opened the bottle I started to gag & wretch, that has never happened before. Migraines suck! I apologize I have not been able to get back on to OH to comment on your posts. I did read most and will try and respond when I can.
Accountability: I barely ate or drank yesterday due to the migraine. I was dizzy & nauseous all day so I certainly did eat off plan, in fact I barely ate. UGH
QOTD: Are you cold all the time now post surgery? I remember wanting to die from being so cold the first year. Its amazing how cold you can get when you don't have layers of fat to keep you warm. At 5 yrs out I do still get cold, and its particularly bad with my hands and feet, especially my hands, they get to cold its painful.
5 yrs 2 mos post op RNY - this is the same menu as yesterday since I didn't eat any of it.
B: 8-10 cups of decaf coffee with RTD (ready to drink) Vanilla PP (Premier Protein) used as creamer then one can of solid white tuna with balsamic dressing
L: 5oz of rotisserie chicken + 1/4 cup of Seven Grain Salad (got it at Costco)
S: 2 babybel
D: 2 egg omlette with sprinkle of shredded cheese & 1 tbsp of salsa
S: Activa yogurt + Special K protein granola
TOTALS: 968 cals, 128 protein. 36 carbs
V: patches are on (iron, Multi, vit D & Calcium) B12 orally
E: if this migraine goes away I will do a 5km run and a 5km hike with the dogs
Have a great day everyone!

G'morning Daisy and menu crew!
Daisy - so very sorry about your migraines. They sound horrible. I suffer from migraines too, but not as severe or as often as you. My heart goes out to you. Take care of yourself.
Yesterday I was at bed bath and beyond looking for a couple of things. It was about 4:00 pm so the store wasn't super busy. One of the sales people saw me wondering around and asked if he could help. He went out of his way to be helpful and when they didn't have the item on the floor he took me back to his computer and ordered it for me with free shipping. You wonder why I bring this up? Maybe I'm paranoid but this wouldn't have happened two yrs ago when I was MO! Don't get me wrong, I appreciate his kindness but I have noticed recently that many ppl (both genders) go out of their way to be helpful. It can't be that all of a sudden I'm meeting nice people and somehow I never met them while I was overweight. So while I appreciate their kindness there is a lingering of doubt towards them and that makes ME sad, because I'm an outgoing person and I always start from positive with people. But now I always wonder if they would have treated me the same way 2 yrs ago.
QOTD: my hands and feet are cold-er but I haven't experienced the freezing cold WLS patients talk about and experience. Maybe because I live in CA?
Accountabity: a piece of gianduia (Italian fudge) found its way into my mouth. I was helping DD with emptying her luggage and she has brought back a BRICK of gianduia!! I told her to hide it from me because I am capable to eat the whole thing even with the scare of dump.
B: coffee protein
L: tuna (hot buffalo) + hard boiled egg
S:parm cheese
D: home made ragù suace on top of cauliflower rice.
Have a great Wed everyone.

Hey Shiela, I'm sorry to hear that the new way people are treating you is causing you some sadness, but I think you are right in your interpretation of the situation. While we'll never know how that specific employee would've treated you pre op, in general people are nicer to thinner people. It is sad that or society pushes the idea that thinness deserves better, but I think the best we can do is go about our lives treating everyone we meet with kindness and respect.
I love your progress Shiela and enjoy that California weather for me too!

There really is a lot of unkindness shown and overall prejudice against the obese, and unfortunately, we or at any rate I was used to it and recognized it when it occurred, even when subtle. Usually it was thought but not voiced, though some people think very very loudly! Occasionally, in my experience, it was very blatant; those experiences were scarring. Things like that I always file away in the category of "How Never to Treat Others". It's hard enough just navigating the world as an obese person at the best of times. Who needs the scorn or other ill treatment from random strangers (or, worse, from those you know)? Thankfully, most people are decent and won't go out of their way to disparage others.
Treating thin and good-looking people extra nicely is something else again. I suspect it's more a matter of your beauty than your slimness alone, though one can cancel out the other in people's eyes. You deserved to be treated with kindness and generosity all along, or course, and I appreciate your awareness of the difference in how you are being treated now. Try to enjoy the little perks which now are yours, knowing that you have the power to discern and make life incrementally better for any heavy person you may encounter, even if just by recognizing their unique personhood with a smile. The MO and the SMO are often suffering, and not infrequently the suffering is at the root of obesity, as well as a consequence of it. That surely was true of me. I think it is important that all of us remember how it felt to be lugging around all of that extra weight, so that we never put ourselves above those struggling with obesity, either in terms of internal judgement, or how we behave. Kindness is a terribly underrated virtue in our society.
The truth is that even when we hit our goal we haven't conquered obesity. It's forever a risk for us. The best we can do is to manage our weight with focus and persistence to, hopefully, keep it under control. All easier said than done, but so so worthwhile.
I know you never would be anything other than wonderful to others, Sheila, as you are a kind and merry soul - your post just has me thinking out loud. Sending you love!
I think attention is also due to the fact that we are happier people now that hold our gears high, make eye contact and smile and are full of confidence....I know that has been a positive change for me...

You might have a point there. I sure don't try to hide when I'm out and about. It's sad that the heavier I was the more invisible I was trying to be.

Wow Mike, you nailed it. At one point my husband told me "if you die tomorrow our kids have no pics to remember you" bcz I was no where in any pic. We would go on vacation and people afterward would ask me if I went with my family because I wasn't in any of the pics. This last trip I was in EVERY picture! :)
