Oliver & Amy send their love and wet kisses right back at you & Lily!!!
Congrats on your dedication Karen to getting your weight back down to where you want it. I know how much more comfortable you are at 118-120 due to your RA.
I am also a daily scale person. I NEED to know the good, bad the ugly. Avoiding the scale got me in trouble in the first place so I am no longer a number avoider!
Thanks for letting the newbies know from a Vet how hard losing regain is when you are more than 3 years post op. Not unattainable of course, our tools still work, but its HARD work. Thanks for that Karen.
I finally made it here today guys!
The year end and first weeks into the new year are brutal at my job (medical/insurance) so I am sneaking in a few minutes today...I have been trying to pop on to read here and there but I haven't gotten a chance to post til now.
I am in on the post holiday commitment to re-set. day 2 so far so good LOL...
I had my first real episode of dumping I think on New Years day and I am pretty sure it was from Sugar free cough drops...go figure!! seriously it was the WORST...on top of having a pretty nasty cold which I am pretty sure has turned into a sinus infection--then I had THAT. ugh...at least it really only lasted about 45 minutes I think but it was brutal!
no more sugar free Halls for me. NO idea why I reacted that way since no other sugar free candy or other things with artificial sweetener have affected me like that, but I am not going to test it again.
QOTD: I am not quite 11 months post op yet and I know I haven't gotten to the toughest part yet (Maintenance) but I would do it again 10 times over. I am about 20lbs away from my goal weight and I feel like I have a completely new life...I've been obese since I was about 7 or 8 years old and I have never experienced the feeling of being a "normal" size...I honestly feel like every wish I ever made since I was 12 years old has finally come true. I do think a lot about how different my life would have been if I had gotten the surgery earlier on...but I don't think I would have been ready for the commitment until I actually did it. I am 40...I am not 80...I still have half my life to live and I am so thankful I didn't wait any longer...and that my husband did it with me. I know if we didn't both commit together, neither of us could have been successful...but he has embraced it better than I even expected him to, and we are happier than we have ever been in the almost 12 years we've been together.
B: Keto Banana bread w/pat of butter, coffee w/sf creamer
L: Chicken & Spaghetti squash stroganoff
S: greek L&F yogurt
D: DH is making me Chicken & veggie soup (with protein powder) for my cold because he is the best!
Cals: 815, carbs: 45, Protein: 62
have a wonderful day everyone!

Yay for sneaking a few minutes to hang out with us here!!
Glad you are committed to the reset, damn holidays!! LOL LOL At under a year out you really need to get a grasp of how to handle the holiday eating, vacation eating, eating at parties etc. You say you know you haven't gotten to the hardest part yet, maintenance, I can't stress enough to you how freaking HARD maintenance is. I am just being honest with you and telling you my experience but I cringe when I see people who are under year saying they are eating off plan already. I am just over 5 yrs post op, hard does not even begin to describe maintenance. I do love that you & your husband are in this together, it must make it some what easier to have a spouse who "gets it" and had to eat the same way. For me having a normie as a husband is hard sometimes as he plows through a bag of chips and multiple cans of coke. Oh and he is one of those guys with an insane metabolism, he is actually currently underweight and trying to gain weight... FML
I am really surprised you dumped on sugar free Halls. Are you sure it was a true "dump" or just RH (reactive hypoglycemia)? I know sweeteners can be brutal for some post ops. Was it sugar alcohol? I remember seeing one of the Vets saying that a lot of protein bars are bad for newbies as they don't have "sugar" but they have a lot of sugar alcohol and that can really affect some people. Sorry you are dealing with a bad cold and had to deal with that. I personally hate Halls, I swear by Buckley's cough drops. I had bronchitis back in November and those nasty buggers saved me! Feel better soon.
I see your protein is quite low, is that a typo or because you are feeling so crappy and don't want to eat dense protein. At 815 calories a day I would expect 80 grams of protein, plus protein is what helps us heal.
Keep up the good work, you are almost at goal and that is super exciting!!
Good Morning and Happy Friday-Eve! Daisy-it is always great to see you on here. I know you can kick the sugar and carbs-you've got this. Last night I ate ALL THE THINGS...nothing really "off plan" but just too much and wasn't needed. I knew as I was doing it that it was related to stress. Today is going to be better.
QOTD: 99.9% of the time I have zero regrets!! There are a few seconds here and there where I want to be "normal" and not have to think about something simple like if it has been 1/2 an hour and I can drink or something like that. It really is just a passing thought though.
Time since surgery: 4 years 4 months
B: SF latte, eggbeaters, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links
L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots
S: Simply protein chips and carbmaster yogurt
D: Jimmy Dean turkey sausage and eggwhite scramble, Mikey's English muffin, sliced fruit, and 2 squares dark chocolate
ES: Homemade Greek yogurt with SF syrup and ¼ cup fiber cereal
E: 6 miles ran this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch
V/W: On track
Totals: Cals:1262 Protein:121 Carbs:102 Fat:48
Have a great one!
I had that same day yesterday, Kelly! I made sure that even though I went over on calories, it was on things like string cheese and vegetables with greek yogurt dip. I figure, as long as I am not going crazy on Cheetos and Doritos...? I think it was "back to work after a week and a half ugh" related!

Happy Friday eve indeed! How are you friend?
I have had too many of those "eat all the things" days as well, UGH. I am sorry to hear you are stressed, I hope it resolves soon!
I agree that 99% of the time I have zero regrets but for me its when I am out at a party or wedding or something and I am around people who are eating tons, drinking tons and eating sweets which are my fav and my weakness, and then there is me, no alcohol, small portions and no sweets as that is a freaking slippery slope for me!
Your menu is always amazing and I love that you are having breakfast for dinner! We do that a lot as well.
Keep being awesome Kelly
