Chicken recipe looks good; my glasstop stove advises against cast iron so I'm very excited for the stove in my new house which will let me use them again! I've also heard using cast iron helps with low iron (minimally) so bonus.

Do tell on the kitchen gadgets, I'm all about the gadgets.

I grew up in a house with a glass top stove and THANKFULLY have had gas ever since. I will NEVER go back to electric if I can help it. I like to be able to see the flame level and immediately adjust heat.

I got all the good gadgets! Well, I got a new set of knives and a Curtis Stone electric knife sharpener, which is probably my favorite gift. I got a wine aerator. I got a cupcake maker (like a waffle maker, but for cupcakes) from the kids - they love cupcakes and I don't care about them at all, so it's a safe gadget. I got a microwave popcorn air popper to make healthier popcorn than the bagged kind. And an air fryer! So far I have made wings twice, and they're FAB. You just spray a tiny bit of Pam and load the wings in. I have to find some other new air fryer recipes, other than fries (potatoes aren't really my thing and fill me up too much). Suggestions welcome!

Oh, I have been looking at the air fryer...my mom doesn't have the best eating habits so I was thinking that could be a good thing for when she moves in. I loved my wine aerator (I still love it, just not currently drinking wine). You will need to let me know how the microwave popcorn thing does; I have one, still in the box I'm ashamed to say (it's next to the also in the box spiralizer).

Welllll...I can tell the popcorn is MUCH healthier. I mean, it's legit just popped kernels. I have been adding some spices to it (Kris also got me popcorn topping spices) but they don't stick to the dry kernels. I think I am going to have to find some spray butter or a butter mister (if that exists)? I can tell it's significantly healthier than the stuff in the bag!

I am not a zucchini person and my pouch soundly rejects carrots, so no spiralizer for me!

I have no idea what brand it is - I will have to go look! Chicken wings are DELICIOUS in it. I mean, I could just make those once every week or two and it would be worth it. I spray it with Pam, put in about 12 wings, and cook for 25 minutes on 380. I shake the basket 2-3 times to move them around. Then, put them in for 400 for 10 minutes and check if they are crispy enough. Add another 5 minutes if needed. Voila. I coat them in hot sauce, although you could do BBQ or sweet Thai chili or whatever flavor you desire. YUM. Kris doesn't like to grill wings because it's a lot of turning and making sure they don't fall through the slats for some tiny little pieces. But we both love them in the air fryer. I will make him homemade fries in there one of these days. I am definitely interested in new recipes! The wings literally seem fried and they're not!

my mother always wanted a glass top stove and I could never understand that. But then I'm a cook and she's not - I think she likes them because they're easy to keep clean. I hate electric stoves in general. We had one in this house when we bought it, and I prayed for the thing to die so we could get a REAL stove. Thankfully, it finally did about a year later. I'd never go back.

I've been told several times that my life long anemia would be cured by only cooking with cast iron. Sounds great, but the iron is so minimal that it's frankly silly...
