Saying hello after lurking too long, 175 pounds down!
Hello everyone,
When I had RNY surgery September 2015 I found so much support in forums. I then got pretty active in Facebook groups and eventually I just got turned away from a lot of the negativity.
So I've just been on my own for awhile and wanted to get back to a supportive group that meant so much to me as I went through pre- and post- op life. So really, I'm just saying hello!
I've kept off 175 pounds and have finally found the foods and habits that keep me at my goal weight.
I live in Arizona with my husband and 2 dogs.
Happy New Year all!

Congratulations on maintaining your weight loss! That is a huge accomplishment. I too had to leave the bypass boards on FB. I couldn't stand the coddling of bad behaviors and general negativity. I did find looking at progress pictures motivating. Glad to have you here.

Welcome and please stick around; I find this to be a positive and very interactive site (the FB group's, not so much!)! If you are willing, john tbebmenu thread, it would be great to see how you're eating for those still earlier in the process!

yes - a lot of those FB groups - plus some of the other popular WLS internet forums - are pretty bad. Lots of bad advice and bad behavior. I'll still get on them occasionally for a few days and then leave again in disgust. This (OH) is without a doubt the best place I've found.
I've really found the menu threads very helpful - there's one for VSG and one for RNY (there may be others, too), but no one really cares which surgery you've had on either thread. We have VSG'ers on ours and there are RNY'ers on theirs, and some people post on both. You'll get to know a lot of regulars that way - I''ve made so many friends here!!
