QOTD- The only one I had was to have WLS, which I did. I would have liked to be at goal by the end of the year but that's not very realistic. I'm happy to be down 100lbs. For this year my goals are to consistently work out, and reach my goal weight. I also want to clean my garage and get rid of things I don't need in preparation for moving. Finish painting, redo my 1970's bathroom, get all of my to do list done.
There was no accountability this weekend, I totally went off the rails and ate too many simple carbs and other things not on plan. I need to get back on track. I think some of it has to do with work, I have so many projects that I need to get done by like yesterday, all urgent and none of them simple. When my planner told me I needed to revise one job I had a crying jag, and decided to go get my blood work done. That was not fun, there were some really weird and obnoxious people in the waiting room. One had to proudly tell us he just puked all over the toilet. Good thing I didn't need to use it. Maybe I'm getting old but these punks with their pants below their butts, showing off their underwear and playing loud videos on their phones really annoyed me. The guy drawing my blood was great, he looked like Jerry Garcia and had a Jerry Garcia bobblehead in his station. But when I was finished I wanted to scrub my entire body.
I've been dreaming about work, which tells me I am too stressed about it. I need to let it go and just do one job at a time. I am only one person and I can only do so much. I want to do a good job, and with all of the work I have to do that is difficult.
I'm hoping the idiots with fireworks will not be much past midnight, or that I can sleep through them. I'm working tomorrow, but from home so I'm hoping to get a lot accomplished.

Happy NYE everyone! I am going to try to stay up tonight--DH works tonight but should be home by 11:30 so we can ring in the new year together. Story is spending the day with my parents before they go back to AZ til spring so I am going to hang out at their house this afternoon/evening then take Story home after dinner. nothing exciting planned but it's perfectly OK with me!
I went shopping just for fun yesterday because I have been dying to try on clothes. Particularly fancy dresses, which I have absolutely no need for haha...I tried on a bunch of body-con /sheath style dresses which I never would have tried on in the past and it was a pretty great experience. I didn't have any reason to buy anything even though I loved them all LOL--but at least I know now that if I ever need a dress for something I won't have a hard time finding one!
It really makes me want to make a fake bridal appointment just to try on ALL the dresses I wished I could have worn for my own wedding! I am sure it sounds crazy but I feel like my bridal gown experience was just so disappointing...It's definitely a challenge finding a wedding gown in a size 28. I liked my dress for what it was at the time but it was not my dream gown by any stretch of the imagination--I did not have many options, and I have daydreamed about wearing fancy gowns since I was a little girl watching the miss America Pageants hehe.
QOTD: My goals for this year were to get this surgery done and lose as much weight as I could...I made a realistic goal to lose 100lbs by the end of the year and I surpassed that by over 40lbs! This year I definitely want to get to my goal or under (150) and transition to maintenance. I also want to find a sustainable regular exercise routine that I can commit to without getting burnt out.
the other goal is to try to actually save some money...I am dying to take Story to Disney but it probably won't be for another 2-3 years. I just need my house to stop falling apart!
B: coffee, sf creamer, 1/3 PP, Keto Banana bread (made this yesterday w/almond flour- super good, only 135 cals per slice and 3g carbs!)
L: leftover chicken stroganoff w/spaghetti squash
D: probably shrimp coctail at mom and dad's!
have a happy and safe new year everyone! Talk to you in 2019!

Hey everyone. I'm off today- started the day attending a funeral for a coworker who lost her husband. Ugh- so sad. No plans today- hubby will be in church as usual tonight, but he says they aren't doing the typical service. I'm not sure if he was trying to entice me to go- but I'm not enticed. I would cook something different/interesting; but no one has any ideas and I'm tired of thinking.
Qotd: goals I accomplished, heck I don't remember what my goals even were! Things that I'm proud of: maintaining a nutrition and fitness routine all year, keeping up with supplements (85% accuracy there), work is busy but my team is finally structured just how I want it- which should alleviate the work on me, kids are happy and healthy and my marriage is strong.
m1: 2 boiled eggs and 5 turkey sausage
m2: roast beef, yams
m3: chicken legs, thighs... cookes in some fashion

Happy New Years, Eve! Congratulations to all who did great things to further their health in 2018! All of you who walked, ran, climbed, lifted, rowed and swam through 2018 should really feel good about yourselves.
We are staying in tonight as we do most years. My daughter went back to school so its just the four of us. The boys requested surf and turf for New Years so we went to Costco this morning and got ribeye and lobster. Hopefully there will be leftovers for tomorrow as well. Also at Costco I also found these bags of individually wrapped beef jerky that I can bring into work for my afternoon snack.
Going to enjoy cream in my coffee today because I committed to dropping it for the challenge starting tomorrow.
QOTD: 2018 was definitely all about qualifying for surgery and having surgery. In 2019, my goals are 1) to finish the weight loss stage (although I don't really know what that means umber wise) , 2) start back to a sustained fitness program (dependent on the gout clearing up), and 3) return focus back to other areas of life such as career and helping with household projects.
Breakfast: Ham and cheddar
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: turkey meatballs and cottage cheese
Snack: Jerky
Dinner: lobster
We are on to 2019.

Happy New Year!
I didn't make till midnight and fell asleep at 11:30pm.
But we had a lovely holiday on the North Island before we came home to less than stellar weather.
Eating wise I did alright for the 1st post surgery Christmas holidays only a few bad choices and one session of dumping... Glad to be home and able to have better control over what foods are around me.
QOTD: I don't usually set goals per se, but I had really hoped to accomplish the surgery last year and that did happen. We finally purchased a house of our own (still in chaos). My son is in high school and doing reasonably well. And I got back on my figure skates and started skating for myself again. So many good things have happened!
Food plan for today (absolutely nothing is open here) is mostly leftovers.
Got the first cup of coffee with Miralax in! (Mom and dad brought some for me!)
B: Skyr with blueberries not sure if I will sweeten the skyr with a "Flex Flavour" or just cinnamon
MT: coffee (decaf black)
L: leftover Moroccan grilled chicken breast, maybe with spinach and tomato
AT: might need to do a protein shake or a small portion of protein pudding
D: either more Moroccan grilled chicken or tuna on greens
Lots of water! Decaf tea/coffee etc.
vitamins should be on track
I might attack the weeds that grew in the garden while we were away and call it exercise if the weather is nice enough a walk in the public garden could be fun.
The first image is our little family playing in the waves at Tawharanui Reserve and the second is of a pohutukawa tree often referred to as New Zealand's Christmas tree as it blooms just in time for the holidays. These only grow on the North Island or at the very top of the South Island and I really miss seeing them during the holidays as they don't grow where we live now.
Have fun,
mathea
