What are you eating RNYers? Rockinâ?? New Years Eve edition
Good morning everyone! Just had to stop by and wish all my fellow RNYers a very Happy New Year!
We were planning to go to my sister's but the male members of my family all are sick with colds so it looks like we're staying home.. . I'm actually a little bit happy about that as it means time with the newest member of our family! We adopted a little mutt almost 4 weeks ago- his name is Obie and I am totally smitten with him. He will be 8 years old in March. He has some resource guarding issues and also gets overwhelmed and stressed if there are lots of people around. We give him his space and he's doing okay. He does bite but we've learned his cues. I do have an appointment with a behaviourist on Saturday so we will see how that goes.
My friend is visiting from out west, so I'm meeting her for lunch today. We haven't decided where we're meeting so I don't know what's on the menu just yet.
QOTD- I had goals, not really sure if I can say I accomplished them. I did stick to my Pampered Chef business- I said I'd give it a year, and it's been more than that. I started a new role at work in March and it's also going well. I'm excited that I can work from home 2 days a week, and hoping to get it up to 3 in the New Year. I haven't lost as much weight as I'd like but I've maintained what I did lose and I'm focusing on being healthy in the New Year.
I had to have a biopsy on a cyst on my thyroid just before Christmas. i will find out the results of that this week or early next week. My thyroid function is on the low side of normal and I go see a specialist in January.
Other than that, everyone's doing well. My oldest son finished his first semester of college. He's had a rough go of it- he lost his job in October, his car died, than he had an accident with our van. Hoping things look up for him in the New Year. Our daughter applied for university - she's received 1 letter of acceptance but is waiting to hear from another school. Our youngest is in his first year of high school. He's not really crazy about his school and would like to go back to the school in our old town- it's not far away but it is out of district so not sure if he will be able to or not. We will look in to it for grade 10 if he still wants to switch though.
Happy New Year everyone! Here are some pics of our new dog.
