I'm stuck...
I had my surgery done almost 2 and a half years ago... I lost a good amount of weight in the first few months, then i completely stopped loosing weight... After about 2 months of not loosing anything, I gave up and just fell off the wagon...
I've just started trying to get the remainder of this weight off, but the same thing is happening now, i can't loose a pound... I'm eating very healthy and my portions are small like they are supposed to be, but i can't loose anything...
All the doctors tell me is that I'm not following the meal plan and to try again... I'm following the meal plan religiously...
Another doctor told me that I may have killed my metabolism by having the surgery by loosing so much weight in the very beginning.
Has anyone else experienced this or have been told the same thing?
So, addressing the "killed your metabolism" part, from all the research I did when looking into this surgery I was under the impression that losing a massive amount of weight on your own, without surgery, does result in a significantly slowed metabolism. I remember a study on "The Biggest Loser" being cited and how previous contestants would have to work out hours and hours every day to maintain the loss (which they didn't because they couldn't). However, the same study reported the opposite with weight loss surgery patients. People who've undergone WLS were able to "reset" their metabolism and maintain their weight loss eating the same amount of calories that a normal person who never had massive weight loss would eat. So, with all due respect, I think that last doctor was full of it.
I know we are all given different versions of a post op diet, maybe you can respond with exactly what you have eaten (with portions sizes) over the past 3 days? If you do not have that information saved in a diary or app like My Fitness Pal, than I think I have an answer for you already....

I will share what I did in weight loss mode. Your mileage may vary.
100g protein a day including one shake/drink
64 oz of water minimum
1000 calories or less (further out harder to go super low calorie)
30-50g carbs a day
exercise/at least 30 minutes activity almost every day.
No drinking fluids with meals and for 30 minutes after.
Protein first, then veggies and then IF there is any room fruit, then carbs. This was my surgeons mantra. He never wanted to say no carbs but it should be rare during weight loss. In maintenance I do eat more carbs. Mostly vegetables, fruit and oatmeal.
Good Luck.
